I taught a teenager long division a few years ago. She showed me how she was taught to do division and I was dumb founded. I majored in math and I had not the slightest idea of how she was supposed to divide. It took me two hours of pounding into her head how to do long division. While I was teaching her I realized she could not do multiplication. If you can’t multiply division is really hard. And she was an honor student! Can’t do 6th grade math and you’re an honor student in 11th grade? WTF!
Ask an Honors Student to calculate a square root. When he/she pulls out their electronic calculator, take it away and tell them to do it by hand. Then, watch them sh*t their pants ...
That is example of how dumbed down this country is
Must memorize multiplication tables up to 12X12
She may not be able to do 6th grade math, but I can guarantee you she will know how to vote Democrat for the remainder of her life.
