Gotta go change outta work clothes & start some supper.
Back when I did the songbook of Paul Williams, I mentioned how he and Roger Nichols took the route of performing their own material to put it before the people who ran the record industry. The group known as Roger Nichols & Friends recorded out of A&M Records and didnt gain much traction. Paul Williams then went and formed Holy Mackerel, recording an album at Warner Brothers that was produced by Richard Perry before he gained fame with Barbra Streisand. This disk has a lot of good Paul Williams material and is produced with style. Its the first time Williams voice was heard on lead vocal, and its a great, catchy tune, which still holds well with age. It should have been a hit. Note that the title on the video is incorrect.
