#13 Simon & Garfunkel: Scarborough FairThe Graduate was a sleeper. Mike Nichols film of Dustin Hoffmans star performance and Buck Henrys script took over a year to grow on audiences, but it became one of Hollywoods greatest moneymakers. I know people who saw it well over a hundred times. It offered the Baby Boomers a vicarious chance to get back at their GI Generation parents when Benjamin Braddock slugged Elaines father at the church. Some eight years later, I was to live just down the block from that church in La Verne, CA.
