NEW YORK — The Catholic League will be allowed to march with an anti-gay-marriage banner in New York City’s annual gay-pride parade, organizers said on the heels of a St. Patrick’s Day parade prohibition on gay-rights signs and subsequent boycott that drew widespread attention.
Parade organizer David Studinski said Thursday he has no problem with Catholic League President Bill Donohue’s plan to participate in the June 29 parade.
“His group’s presence affirms the need for this year’s pride theme, ‘We Have Won When We’re One,’” Studinski said in a statement. “Straight is great — as long as there’s no hate.”
Sarah Kate Ellis, president and CEO of the gay-rights group GLAAD, said several straight and Catholic organizations have previously marched alongside LGBT groups, according to Newsday (http://bit.ly/1h1rxGw ).
“As a fellow Irish New Yorker, I’m hoping Bill will march with me at NYC Pride,” Ellis said.
On Monday, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Guinness beer boycotted the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade because organizers wouldn’t allow participants to carry pro-gay signs.

They should let clergy walk the parade route in their vestments.
He dangled the bait, and they bit. He needs to not rest.
Now, he needs to demand to be able to march with more.
Demand to march with banners displaying Leviticus 18 and Romans 1 scripture.
Then, photos of emaciated bodies that are suffering due to AIDS—and with statistics showing the level of abuse and pedophilia convictions among homosexuals.
Next, demand that homosexuals who have been FREED by God from their sin be made Grand Marshall of the parade and be allowed to speak.
Keep doing what the left does—don’t demand mere TOLERANCE, demand CELEBRATION and ENDORSEMENT of your position.
This tactic of his might backfire.
The gays will then reason — If we tolerated your signs in our gay pride marches, why don’t you tolerate our marching with our signs during the St. Patrick’s day parade?

Will they be before or after the NAMBLA synchronized child lap dancers?
What they are trying to do is criticize the St Pat’s Parade.
The difference is that the “Gay Pride” parade is clearly a political event, and always has been.
The St Patrick’s Day (Irish) parade was not political, there was no advocacy of anything, but the gays wanted to intrude themselves as advocates of “gayness.”
So while the gays are permitting an opposition banner in their parade, that’s because their parade was always political and about advocacy of their cause. The traditional Irish St Patrick’s Day parade, which they tried to break up, was not.

That’s what I thought. It seems to have backfired. But the court decision still stands: If the organizers object, you’re out. If they don’t object, you’re in. So he hasn’t really lost legally, just in PR terms maybe. He probably guessed this would happen.
Methinks the gays have called the bluff.
The gays are smart enough to realize that they need acceptance by straights. The gay attitude is not everyone has to be gay, but everyone has to accept gay. They are perfectly ok with heterosexuality and heterosexual marriage, they just want acceptance for homosexuality and homosexual marriage.
Too bad. They don’t get acceptance. It is a sin. Plain and simple.
Homosexuality is a judgment on America.
This needs to be pointed out consistently - homosexuality will not bring judgement upon our country; homosexuality IS the judgement. Romans 1:26 starts with “For this reason” and continues “God gave them up to vile passions.” “..men with men committing what is shameful”; so this is a judgement upon our society.
It also continues and says that they give approval to others for more and more evil acts. We see this today with our legislatures accepting homosexual marriages and the teaching of it as acceptable in the schools.
Note also that Romans 1:32 points out that those who approve of such conduct are just as guilty as those who engage in it.
It seems to me that the Gay parade is about sexual orientation
and so is ‘Straight is Great”. The St. Patrick’s parade is not about any orientation, and I think that makes it an apples to oranges comparison, when the gays want to carry their ‘orientation’ sign.
You’re right. Keep making more demands until they say no.
Truthfully, the Catholics should stay out of the homos parade. You neither make a point, nor emerge clean, when you wallow with pigs.
Their best bet would be to increase the religious aspect of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Because the more Catholic and religious it becomes, the less the homos will want to intrude on it.
Then, when they hit their limit, explode with indignation at how they are the REAL haters.
Same kind of logic Rush uses when he talks of minimum wage...if $10 is good, why not make it $20? $30? $100?
He will be egged, stoned, inundated with unmentionable human secretions. They will be unable to resist.
Cameras had better be recording him every second.
