The Tea Party Patriots’ super PAC endorsed Matt Bevin Friday in his race against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in the Kentucky GOP primary.
Jenny Beth Martin, president of Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, said that Mr. Bevin, a Louisville businessman, is a “job creator, family man, and community leader committed to fighting for personal freedom, economic freedom and a debt-free future.”
“Unlike the incumbent, Matt Bevin has never voted to raise the debt ceiling, has never cut a deal with Joe Biden to raise taxes by $600 billion, and has never worked to ‘crush’ his political opponents,” Ms. Martin said.
Mr. McConnell has come under fire from tea party and grassroots conservative groups, including last month after he helped Democrats pass a plan that let President Obama borrow as much money as he needed to cover federal obligations for 13 months.
Mr. McConnell fired back earlier this month, predicting that tea party backed challengers in primary races were doomed.
“I think we are going to crush them everywhere,” he told The New York Times. “I don’t think they are going to have a single nominee anywhere in the country.”
Mr. Bevin and Mr. McConnell will face off in the May 20 primary and the winner will go on to run against Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes, Secretary of State of Kentucky.
A February poll from the Louisville Courier Journal showed that Mr. McConnell held a 55 percent to 29 percent lead over Mr. Bevin. It also showed that Mr. McConnell trailed Ms. Grimes in a potential general election match by 4 points, and the Democrat led Mr. Bevin 43 percent to 38 percent.

McConnell, the arrogant SOB, will probably win the battle (primary) but he will lose the war (general).
I honestly don’t think many conservatives here are going to vote for him in the general after the despicable campaign he is running in addition to his record in the Senate. His animosity for conservatives is a deal breaker for me.
If he is anti-anmensty, then I'm pro Mitch.

Every four years, the Republican Elites systemically slaughter the Conservatives during the primaries, then tell the Conservatives, "It is our guy or the Democrat" And the Conservatives , like abused wives tuck their tails between their legs and vote for the Republican. This tricked worked on me in 2008 and 2012. Both John Mc Cain and Mitt Romney made a liar out me, because I said that I would not vote for either of them, and ended up voting for both of them, though in Mc Cain's case, I soothed my pride and said I actually voted for Palin.
But this go around [if there is one] The Republicans run another Liberal, they can fight it out with the Democrats by themselves. I learned my lesson.

He voted for immigration reform in 2006, voted to deny cloture in 2007, voted for cloture in 2013 and against the bill in 2013.
He’s for Amnesty under Bush, against Amnesty under Obama. Take your pick!!
Bottom line. McConnell wants Amnesty to become law. He just doesn’t want his fingerprint on it. That’s why he helped to get it through cloture but voted against the bill.
But when the republicans were in the majority in 2006, he was all for helping Bush get Amnesty through, and voted for it. That was the McCain-Kennedy bill, and McConnell voted Aye!

Among likely Republican GOP primary voters, Bevin trails McConnell by 38 points, according to a to a March Public Opinion Strategies poll.

REMARK: The Louisville Courier Journal has a long history of liberal bias. It shows Matt trailing McConnell by 26 points at the height of the TARP smear against Bevin (and it was a smear with false substantiation; I have proof).
Public Opinion Strategies (POS) is a nationally-known public opinion research firm. In addition to polling for Fortune 100 companies, 80 members of Congress, 19 senators, and six governors, the firm’s partners (in conjunction with two other firms) poll for NBC News/Wall Street Journal and National Public Radio.
REMARK: POS is a Beltway gun for hire. They execute polls according to instructions of the poll designers. The question is who is behind the recent POS poll. My bet is the McConnell campaign is behind it.

REMARK: The fact that Bevin is statistically even with the democrat challenger along with McConnell bolsters the legitimacy of Bevin’s candidacy. There’s a good chance that a lot of McConnell supporters will get behind Bevin if he is the winner in the primary and then trounce the democrat in November. In other words, Bevin can easily win the November election.
Bevin’s challenge is to get KY voters to detach from all the corporate propaganda that McConnell is bringing to the fight. The only way to do that is go negative on McConnell and so far this appears to be going well. The Madison Project Ad showing McConnell voting 14 times since he’s been in office to raise the debt ceiling is devastating. Such ads clearly mark McConnell as a big government cretin and not a conservative.
Hope and pray that he wins the primary but if he doesn't, and contrary cotton's views, I'd still favor the turtle over the demonRAT bitch.

McConnell will lose the general election and the GOPe will openly and very nastily blame it on the TEA Party and conservatives.

This is an important point to understand concerning McConnell. He gives the democrats the ball knowing what they will do and then he votes against them. An analogy would be giving a hoodlum permission to date your daughter but telling the neighbors you don’t approve of the hoodlum. It’s completely duplicitous.
Bottomline is don’t believe McConnell’s concocted conservative voting record. It’s fraudulent.

There was an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer this morning that McTurtle won’t debate Matt Bevin. Big surprise.

That’s why he was so pissed at Cruz, both last September and on the debt ceiling deal. He was FORCED to show his hand, to vote how he really believed.
He said he was doing what was right for the country by helping the democrats get the debt ceiling bill through, but then he votes against the bill so he can say that he voted against increasing the debt ceiling. Which is it, Mitch? Was it right to increase the debt ceiling or not? If yes, then why did you vote against it, and if no, then why did you vote for cloture?
We all know the reason, he wanted the bill to pass but didn’t want to be able to be held responsible for it. It’s the cute little game they’ve been playing for years.
It was the same with Amnesty.

First of all, Matt Bevin is also anti-Amnesty.
Secondly: WOW! Talk about a Johnny-one-note.
I can’t believe you made the statement above. That’s like saying: “Hey, does the guy next door have a job, work hard and provide for his family? If so then he’s my buddy ‘cause I like hard working guys. And, I’ll just overlook the fact that he molests little children.”
Come on....if you can fly a Sea Plane, you’re too smart to make stupid statements like you made.

Exactly. McConnell wants amnesty, but can’t support it when his reelection is coming up. Yet there were reports that McConnell was whipping votes behind the scenes for last year’s Senate amnesty bill even though he voted against it (another McConnell “show vote” for those voting in the Republican primary who are low information voters).
If McConnell makes it past Bevin, and makes it past Grimes, I suspect he and Boehner will want to “get immigration reform done.”
By no means am I a singe issue dude, and it bugs me that such a poor public speaker and dissolute (appearing) person as is McConnell is the SML and the face of the GOP for the Senate.
That said, if he IS a conservative (I think he gets a 90% rating), then I say keep him, as we do not want the seat to go to the dark side.
To my mind, the best litmus test to distinguish RINO v GOPer is position on amnesty for illegals, including the "pathway" deception.
