There's another point, IMHO, that has to be stressed: as an officer, you CANNOT place yourself in a compromising position.
There is no way I'd want any of these midshipmen in leadership positions. As a platoon leader, I enjoyed having a few beers with my soldiers...but I never got $hit-faced (except during our tour of the Konigsbacher brewery, and we had a designated driver).
If the young lady graduates from the Naval Academy, her history will be known from the moment she arrives at her duty station. Gee, I wonder how that will turn out?

I live in Annapolis. The woman is already a pariah at the USNA.
Her situation has already been relayed to recent grads out with the fleet.
She should be booted out, but won't. She'll do the minimum commitment and then leave the service ...
