If you read the article, you will see that the DNA evidence excluded Mr. Howard from being a suspect. It was withheld by Nifong and his gang. They also had tips naming the suspects but ignored them or hid them. This guy was railroaded.

I read it (even though it's more fun to comment without reading). Howard should be released and paid generously for the violation of his rights and the loss of a significant portion of his life, and I assume both are almost automatic at this point. It's the rest of Nifong's victims who have to be located by reviewing his cases - that's an issue that won't take care of itself.

And there is a clear pattern of generalized prosecutorial misconduct over a long period of time. Even the rather flaky novelist Peterson seems to have been a victim of a vendetta and he was certainly crucified by programs like 48 hours.
