My gut is telling me those are cargo containers. Thousands of them floating in the world’s seas, that have fallen off ships.

Had a friend hit one in his boat off Monterey a few years ago. He never saw it, and almost didn’t survive the collision, let alone in the waters. Lucky for him another boater saw it happen.

It continued to fly for seven hours with all of these critical systems failing. That’s pretty robust design. The Swiss Air, I think it was a MD-11, that crashed near Halifax Nova Scotia was on fire. It only lasted a few minutes before it crashed. Entertainment system overheated I think.

Been doing some Tomnod searching...it looks a lot like a wave/whitecap formation to me. I wonder if they have a time lapse series of it that would rule out a whitecap.

But the Orion P3 is getting pingbacks, so it must be more than water. It could be a seal, a porpoise, a large fish such as a tuna, a whale or a shipping container. From our discussion, a 777 part would likely have sunk, so I'm from Missouri on that theory.
Thought that bothers me, if it is the plane, I pray they weren’t alive waiting for a rescue while all the people were covering their butts.
