Is this that? We'll see.
So according to the EU, if they start throwing firebombs and chase out the elected leader of the nation, they will support them as a legitimate government right?
This looks to be about normal for the Taiwan Parliament. They routinely brawl on the floor. There are some great vids on youtube. Legislative cage-fighting seems to be a national sport or something.
Yup. And then FReepers will support China as it occupies Taiwan in order to protect some Chinese minority.
Damn. Walked into that one. Nice-lol
Destabilization of Taiwan begins. Assume China will soon begin massing forces.
Did you read the article by any chance?
This is NOT the “same old same old.”
“Did you read the article by any chance?”
Sure did. Some students occupied Parliament. Student occupations of buildings are fairly common around the world. Brawls are common in the Taiwan Parliament. There is one really interesting fight shown on youtube where one woman slaps another and a brawl erupts.
The Taiwanese obviously like their politics straight up with lots of slapping, screaming, and pulling of hair. Their thing I guess. Sorry if I don’t find it all that newsworthy if the theatrics for this week involve occupying the parliament building.
politics is a contact sport on Taiwan.
Too bad we can’t get this more in our Congress, I’d love to see someone pop Harry Reid right in the kisser.
Not related to this topic but an oddity. I’ve been to Taipei numerous times and during a walk that took me past the old airport which is located in Taipei I saw on the outside of the terminal on a wall a display of historic aircraft starting with the Wright Flyer and ending with the Shuttle. There are about 10 or so historic aircraft and right in the middle Is a Stuka. It really doesn’t belong with those other aircraft and it has always made me wonder why it’s there.
Maybe it’s nothing.
But has the thought occurred to you that maybe, jut maybe, Taiwan is being sold out to China the way Crimea was sold out to the Russians?
In other words, maybe Allen West was exactly right that China would be emboldened by Obama’s lack of response to the Russian invasion, and go on the march themselves?
I think that is worthy of consideration.
No, China will come in to protect the ethnic Chinese.
If Chinese troops invade they can hold a “legitimate” referendum within days to rejoin the PRC
Lol, from who?
98% of Taiwan’s population is made up of Han Chinese People, while 2% are Taiwanese aborigines. The composite category of “Taiwanese People” is often reputed by many Taiwanese to include a significant population of at least four constituent ethnic groups: the Hokkien (70%), the Hakka (15%), Fuzhou people (2%) mainly native of Matsu Islands, waishengren (or mainland Chinese) (11%), and Taiwanese aborigines (2%).
Does China have a superstar leader who rides a horse shirtless, rassles bears and kicks Obama’s homo ass daily for sport?
