A week after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 vanished, theories of the plane's fate continue to spread across websites, social media, news outlets and official sources -- ranging from the plausible to the absurd.
The leading theory is foul play. While earlier this week outlets reported that officials appeared skeptical that human interference caused the plane's disappearance, by Friday authorities were putting more stock into the theory that someone intentionally altered the flight's course, and that whoever it was knew how and where to fly a plane.
Who were the pilots of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370? As to where the flight ended up, theories have ranged from the Indian Ocean to the South China Sea, with increasing attention being placed on the former. I think Kalin & Jinger were practicing their act where they make a jumbo jet disappear. They misfired and made the wrong one vanish.
Care to share any insights? At this point there haven't been any press reports suggesting that is the case. If press accounts are true, the only thing we know is that someone with flying experience had control of the aircraft after it deviated from the flight plan.

Good question. The older was a political fanatic who had just attended a high profile political trial a few hours earlier and was outraged and very upset at the verdict.
I still think that this plane is intact somewhere and something evil is planned.
I no longer think it was cargo they were after - despite earlier reports of gold that I am increasingly thinking are not reliable and not likely as a motivation - where, after all, could he enjoy his new riches if it were merely treasure?
“I’m sure” and “I am certain” are two phrases repeated throughout these threads filled with absurd, laughable theories all based on solid... speculation. I’ve been saying that these fantasies must come from the minds that have been filled by scenarios from cheap thrillers and science-fiction novels (Danielle Steel, L. Ron Hubbard?), and just a few minutes ago, on another thread, someone remarked that this drama sounds like it came from a Clive Cussler mystery, whoever this Clive person is (a penny dreadful hack?) And at least, I rest assured that I am the only one here whose theory has George Soros and the Ukrainian Nazis as the culprits.

No. Planes are bought/sold based on their serial numbers. Logbooks are included with the purchase. The new buyer would need to have proof of no liens, so they would check the serial number against registration for liens.
As regards to parts, similar story. The parts would need to be yellow tagged to be serviceable. Their history would need to be traced. That’s especially true of the engines.

You had me for a minute, but it's actually simple.
I'm a newbie. My comments are moderated and posted after someone approves them. They probably all get approved at once and released to cyberspace by a mod.

But that does little to deter people from entering into that life.
Let's assume there was someone who knew where to sell the plane (or it's parts). He knows he can get $100MM for it. He takes his time and finds a pilot who flies that aircraft type and has a gambling problem, or a lot of debt or whatever. He offers the guy $5MM up front and $5MM on delivery. Think that couldn't work?
I'm not saying that this is what happened but the more I think about it the more I am surprised that someone has not tried some thing like this up until now.

You're right Izzy - it's why brainstorming works... and why CBS with their top-down authoritarian ways doesn't work.
CBS was also giving the 'not too subtle' message that the Internet can't be trusted because, " Look - here's a crackpot".... as if most citizens can't discern the difference between a meteor hitting a plane (highly unlikely) and a possible terrorist act (highly likely)

We have seen some bizarre game playing in the past.
Once the person in question had multiple browsers open at the same time.
So the curiosity is natural to those of us who saw something odd like that before.
The moderated comment wait time is relatively new, not many have seen it in action.
Is that true everywhere? I wonder if Uzbekistan or Cameroon is as meticulous Japan or the US.

I joined now due to a major news event. I try not to spend much time on sites like this, but this story sucked me in and this site has info.
I’m also a Libertarian so am familiar with the site, although I do not want to get addicted to a political blog.
I may not post long or frequently. You can waste years on a site like this.
