Radar Shows Plane Deliberately Flew Toward Indian Ocean: Reports
NBC News ^ | March 14, 2014 | Alastair Jamieson

Military radar evidence suggests the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner was deliberately flown west toward the Indian Ocean’s Andaman Islands, sources told Reuters on Friday as mounting evidence pointed to a criminal inquiry into Flight MH370.

Two sources told Reuters that an unidentified aircraft – believed by investigators to be the missing Boeing 777 - was following a route between navigational way-points, indicating it was being flown by someone with aviation training when it was last plotted on military radar off the country's northwest coast.

Interesting.

I wonder how much needless speculation has been caused by poor English skills or too-hasty translation into English.

Thanks Maggie, your the best at this, that is quite a discuss on the other link. This pilot was good at what he did, I am sure they are very interested in his simulator hard drive.

People have told me they often use their cell phones when flying over the ocean. Or even their computers. So I would think it would be possible for one to make a call, send a text, or even send an email. Is this not so? I thought, when flying, cell phones can operate via satallite , not relying entirely on "towers."

Could the Malaysian plane have entered Indian air space without India knowing? India’s radar “not always turned on” http://t.co/hVxfTQXK39

Let’s consider, if this is an act of terrorism, then who was responsible?

Here’s a link to the seating configuration for the aircraft: https://i.imgur.com/zLGmzDC.jpg

Time to see who was sitting where. Can you imagine the possibilities?

Will they improvise a bunker buster, put a nuke weapon on board and send it into the Yellowstone caldera at 525 mph?

Lets hope they don’t get too creative.

Any light you can shed on this: “...I’ve been reading elsewhere theories about the company that had all the employees on board, fast-something or other. They were developing very interesting electronics. Also, four of the five patent holders for some product of this company that held the potential to earn billions... were on board. Leaving ONE patent holder, and a huge incentive to disappear the rest. AND the patent was just approved. One owner stands to suddenly get very rich.”

I haven't a clue about any "interesting electronics." I find them all interesting, even my corner of the world (but sometimes the end applications of my work surprises me). I can talk about the patent holders though, that's easy. If they developed something for the company, Freescale owns the patents and it doesn't matter if any or all the developers go away; we still own the patents. IOW, there is no financial incentive whatsoever to knock anybody off over them. I have friends that hold in excess of 50 patents each, and they don't get any kind of royalties because they've already been paid for their contributions.

The theory that somebody knocked off some engineers to get them off the patents does not hold water. Nobody is going to get rich off of this.

About 20 of the people onboard are associated with a Company owned by The Carlyle Group

“In September 2006, Carlyle led a consortium, comprising Blackstone Group, Permira and TPG Capital,”

And that MIGHT be a key to this...or not...

Nobody is happy at the company “owned” by Carlyle. I doubt the public stockholders who also “own” the company are probably not really happy either.

Dont have a clue what your post means.

Did it occur to you that the plane could have been targeted because of who was one board...be it the patent holders or CIA cover agents...or whoever else might be on board.

I wonder if the five are caught on camera anywhere in the airport.

It’s pretty much all I’ve thought about for the past week (since the emails from the CEO and the Corporate Crisis Management Team), RC, and some of the conspiracy theories are “interesting.” I feel sad for the families of the 20 coworkers of mine that were on the flight. I’ve other coworkers go down on flights, and it’s not a pleasant thing to watch a few thousand people go through.

The really important R&D goes on here in the US, a part of which is my own lab. From what I’ve been able to glean from reputable sources, they were Managers and some Engineers. It will be a difficult adjustment for the Manufacturing facilities where they worked. But they were *Manufacturing* people, not Research Scientists. Would somebody have downed a plane to get them? Sure, I suppose, but I don’t know why, and as I said, I have certainly been thinking about it, a lot.

You can never really be sure about those employees.

This is The Carlyle Group. People are not always what they seem.

And there were other high level employees from other companies on that flight.

It is OBVIOUS that this was terrorism of some sort at this point.

Motive unclear.

One possibility is it being about who was on that plane.

It is also possible that the passengers were a coincidence.

But somehow...I doubt it.

I also think it is possible someone shot that plane down since it was so far off track but it hasnt been revealed yet. Maybe not probable but a possiblity.

The whole thing is hinky.

btw, there is an interesting drama over a former Employee

http://blogs.wsj.com/searealtime/tag/shane-todd/

http://boards.ancestry.com/topics.obits/64390/mb.ashx

There were at least two Huawei employees on that jet and I think they were executives.

Was Shane Todd murdered? Who knows.

Does any of that have anything to do with the missing airliner.

Dont know.

But it shows the level of intrigue that goes on ....

Shoot-down was my working theory for several days. It would explain the lies after lies after lies we’ve gotten from the Malaysian gummint. Then the story came out about the engine monitors. I have my doubts about that myself. I know how that data could have been WAY off base and misleading, but I ain’t talkin. Can’t.

But I will continue to doubt it was shot down to get at that group of 20. This has to play out some more. There were over 200 others, one fellow from IBM. nd the CIA could have been involved on just about every airplane out there.

My theory is that it was shot down due to worries about the plane/terrorism/ and not because of who was on board..but it could have been hijacked because of who was on board.

There are a lot of countries over there that can’t be trusted.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that the US does not know what happened to that plane at this point.

I agree with everything you said there. I thought it was shot down because the Malaysian government feared a 9/11 style attack on their own twin towers. The engine data throws a monkey wrench in that, but I have my own, personal doubts about the integrity of that data.
