KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- A Malaysia Airlines plane sent signals to a satellite for four hours after the aircraft went missing, an indication that it was still flying for hundreds of miles or more, a U.S. official briefed on the search said Thursday.
Six days after the plane with 239 people aboard disappeared, Malaysian authorities expanded their search westward toward India, saying the aircraft may have flown for several hours after its last contact with the ground shortly after takeoff from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing.

We don’t know exactly how much fuel was put on board the aircraft. For all we know the fuelers could have been in on it and topped of the tanks to max.
Oo ee oo ah ah ting tang walla walla bing bang
A loss of cabin pressure at “under the radar” altitudes wouldn’t be bad.
Lets not forget that one of the FBIs most wanted terrorists, Adnan El Shukrijumah, also known as Jafar fhe Pilot, is still on the loose.

He was commissioned by Bin Laden to carry out a nuclear 9-11. hes been working on that for over a decade. if it turns out that this plane was hijacked and landed somewhere, i would not be surprised if he is involved.
he last made some “noise” in 2009 with the thwarted nyc subway bombing. so 5 years later....he’s due.
Wherever the plane landed or crashed I’m certain the US government knows where it’s at.
Unless the passengers aboard were dead, they must have been aware that something was terribly amiss during those hours.
Most likely. Exact reason, no idea.
You left out the Amish state of Bangladesh.
This "whack-a-mole"journalism is giving me a headache
This whole affair is the most frustrating thing I’ve ever seen. Six days into it and even the most basic details are not nailed down for sure, such as which side of the Malay Peninsula to look for the wreckage. Has there ever been anything like it in aviation history?
Which would explain why the original Boeing report was denied by the investigators.
They may want to buy time to find the plane before whoever took it knows they are on their trail.
Form the article: "Boeing declined comment."
“Destination PAKISTAN? Iran?”
Based on the 5 hour estimate, my guess is Pakistan. Iran also occurred to me. We’ll see more about this plane, perhaps on a trans-Atlantic flight into NYC using a bogus call sign, like Obama2017.
Has anybody discussed or mentioned radar failure/sabotage?
I ask this because inoperable radar would miss a missile or crash, or course deviation.
Whatever the case may be, since all other possibilities seem exhausted, start with the radar and go from there.
My other suspicion is a state actor. How or why, I don’t know, but it seems very strange nobody knows or isn’t telling.
For crying out loud. I knew this was being handled by amateurs in Kuala Lumpur, but this is reaching the realm of tinfoil hattery.
On one of the Fox shows, Kelly’s or Hannity’s, the “expert” said this is the biggest air mystery ever. Well, Amelia Earhart’s plane and others are out there as well but this has to be up there.
I believe it was a red eye type of thing. So if most of the passengers were asleep, and the the take over of the cock pit was quick and easy, nobody might have noticed an easy turn to the West.
If nothing else, the NSA could check in on the cell phones.
“Next they’ll summon Cthulhu.”
Naah, it’s in the running for the U.S. Presidency in 2017.
