This is not so cut and dry. Don’t think deadly force was appropriate in this case. Dad should have stood far enough away from the boy. And really, what dad couldn’t figure out the boy was invited in by his daughter if he was hiding under the bad?
Not first degree murder, but at least voluntary manslaughter.
Never get a conviction...heat of the moment sort of thing....as far as the dad was concerned he was dealing with the rapist of his daughter!!!
A stranger in an occupied bedroom at 2AM, with the occupant denying any mitigating reason for his presence, has answered all questions regarding use of deadly force and awaits nothing more than “furtive movement” to justify its application. Things can go very wrong very fast, and the homeowner has reason to believe it will if the intruder does anything other than totally comply & submit immediately.
And really, what dad couldnt figure out the boy was invited in by his daughter if he was hiding under the bad?

I am a mother and not a father, but I seriously doubt if I would come to that conclusion under these circumstances, i.e., thinking a stranger is in your daughter’s room ready to rape her. My first instinct would be to protect my child at all costs.
I hope this girl comes to her senses and stops acting like a tramp. And, since it appears that it is her sneaking and lies that got this boy killed, she caused her father to have to kill someone. I am sure that is a heavy burden for this man to bear, justified homicide or not.
