Surely there are SCORES of parents who make the same claim, and NEVER discover how many times they were “wrong” about well they thought they “knew” their children, and their friends.

You are correct, but only one of our daughters got pregnant before she was 18 (she was 17) and I had warned her about the boy but she was the one who knew more than her stupid old man.

Luckily, the bum is gone, she graduated on time, in the top 25% of her class and she has a beautiful four year old son! She works, is now in her own home and in life she learned a tough, hard lesson: listen to Daddy.

My two oldest daughters were NEVER allowed to have sleep overs without us at home - I knew them and their friends and wasn't going to take a chance, because I knew them and their friends. LOL!

Kudos to your daughter for achievements.

Many kids find that lesson out the hard way. MY own father, didn’t allow ‘sleep overs’ or ‘sleep outs’ at all....no matter who it was. He too, was a Marine. He was known as “General Buzzkill” in our household. LOL!
