Secretary of State John Kerry warned of serious repercussions for Russia on Monday if last-ditch talks over the weekend to resolve the crisis in Ukraine failed to persuade Moscow to soften its stance.
Kerry will travel to London for a Friday meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov ahead of a Sunday referendum vote in the Crimea region to secede from Ukraine and join the Russian Federation.
U.S. and European officials argue that Moscow is orchestrating the referendum and waging an intimidation campaign with thousands of Russian troops controlling the region. If Russian-backed lawmakers in Crimea go through with the Sunday referendum, Kerry said the U.S. and its European allies will not recognize it as legitimate under international law.

I can’t wait to see what these “serious repercurssions” might be. Putin must cowering in a corner, shaking in his boots ...
Maybe Kerry should bring the black panthers with him. I hear they’re very good at intimidating people.
Putin would sic the Night Wolves on the Panthers....
It's going from treason to artful treason.
Oh? What is Kerry going to do about it if Putin doesn’t get out by Monday?
Kerry enjoys playing pretend President.
Just exactly how stupid does one have to be to attempt the same, pointless, ball-less, empty threat? Limp-wristed diplomacy, courtesy of Lurch and Odumbass...
Oh boy, Kerry talking tough. And if Russia doesn't reverse course by Monday Kerry will flash him the bird.....on second thought he doesn't have the cajones.

“Kerry responded carefully, saying we have contingencies we are talking through various options that may or may not be available.
Yes, Longface, those “options that ... may not be available” are going to be very useful in deterring Putin.
Russia to deploy more 15 additional combat aircraft in Belarus territory in response to the increased NATO military activity along this countrys border with Poland. (Russia and Belarus signed an agreement on the joint protection of their airspace and the creation of an integrated regional air defense network in February 2009. It is part of the integrated air defense network of the Commonwealth of Independent States, a loose alliance comprising nine former Soviet nations.)

“At least the West is agreed on the Ukraine crisis. It agrees that something must be done to stop Russia’s re-occupation of Crimea, and it agrees that nothing can be done to stop it. Paradox is the stuff of foreign policy. It produces summits, holds conferences, forms and reforms contact groups. Leaders make interminable phone calls and thinktanks rush joyfully to club-class lounges. Everywhere, something must be done and nothing can be done.”

“make kerry have a fatal accident!”
The term...spoken in English with a thick Russian accident is “an unfortunate accident, the brake lines must have been worn and given way(both of them)”
