Poll: Should Naming Places on Other Planets Be Open to the Public?

http://www.space.com/25031-planet-place-names-public-poll.html?cmpid=514648_20140312_19966464

I say yes with reservations to avoid stupid names like “Bunghole crater”. The public pays for it and should have some say.

In their example of conglomerates the author states that wind is not strong enough to pick up pebbles over one centimeter in diameter and carry them along in the current. That may be true on Earth but the gravity on Mars is only 38% as much as Earth. Would it still be too heavy for a pebble to be moved under those conditions?
