Mr. Robinson - I can imagine you're subjected to thousands of pings every day, many of which are to tattle on others in hope of getting someone zotted or maybe just to garner a "me too" from the boss. So, the signal to noise ratio is probably pretty low in the daily barrage of messages sent your way.

I hope this will draw your interest since its intent is to get your opinion, which is highly valued. In the statement of Mon Mar 22 20:22:17 2004 , you enumerate the principles that are the foundation of Constitutional Conservatism and, of course, for Free Republic. There's no mention of drugs, one way or the other, in the list.

Where do you stand on this often divisive subject? Do you support legalization of drugs in any way?

Note that I've also pinged onyx since she's a stalwart of Free Republic, an unwavering Conservative and plays a large role in the FReepathons' successes over the years. Since we've had many good conversations here and she's taught me so much, I'd also like her opinion on the drug issue.

I can't speak for JR, but he wrote the following ca. 1998/1999 =>

A return to a strictly Constitutional form of federal government will automatically repeal and abolish all unconstitutional federal involvement in states issues such as: crime, health, education, welfare and the environment. The Tenth Amendment will again be in effect, which will bar all federal attempts at legislating social issues.

Thank you so much for your very kind words about me, which are actually way too generous. I learn a lot from you, dearest re_nortex, but that’s the beauty of FR: we learn from one another.

I am totally against the legalization of drugs, including marijuana. Look at the party in favor of it, which is the same party trying to take complete control of our medical profession and our own medical choices. Easy to control a population on drugs, particularly the younger ones. Hey man, anything goes!

I’ve personally seen the harmful effects of drugs within my own family. No thanks. The road back is costly and tough on everyone involved. It takes a lot of work and lot of prayer and it’s only possible through Him.
