Since you seem so sure that supporting the Federal drug war is the only acceptable position for a conservative, perhaps you can point me out the section in the Constitution that authorizes it?
I’ve yet to see a single “conservative” drug warrior on FR that can answer that question.
So you support the Wickard Commerce Clause at the expense of the Tenth Amendment. How do you justify that?
Are they for drug testing welfare users? How about heavily taxing legal pot to fund social service agencies like the dept of childrens services cause druggies with children will eventually neglect and harm them.
Its new York right? What conservatives?
Drugs are bad. The war on some drugs is much worse.
I hope this will draw your interest since its intent is to get your opinion, which is highly valued. In the statement of Mon Mar 22 20:22:17 2004 , you enumerate the principles that are the foundation of Constitutional Conservatism and, of course, for Free Republic. There's no mention of drugs, one way or the other, in the list.
Where do you stand on this often divisive subject? Do you support legalization of drugs in any way?
Note that I've also pinged onyx since she's a stalwart of Free Republic, an unwavering Conservative and plays a large role in the FReepathons' successes over the years. Since we've had many good conversations here and she's taught me so much, I'd also like her opinion on the drug issue.
I think it should be further decriminalized but not legalized. Big difference.
I’ve noticed the five are probably not as conservative as they try to portray themselves. Like Limbaugh, what they’re really doing is parroting conservative ideas.
When something potentially groundbreaking comes around, their true colors show through as they completely ignore it.
