It was quansit housing for returning WW2 vetrans alongside Riverside DR north of the golf course.
It was later torn out and they put in Roy Rodgers museum which was torn out when the 134 and 5 interchange was put in.
I grew up in silverlake and went to marshal high.
“The only time Ive ever seen my father cry was at his wake.”
That sucks.
“Ive never met anyone whos even tried heroin.”
My Mother had a relative that blew out his spleen on bad smack. AFAIK, the sh*tbag is still alive...must be in his 60’s by now.
The only illegal drug I’ve ever had any interest in try is LSD. Not that I ever have or would, but, I think it would be interesting to try. OTOH, living in modern day Amerika is a “bad” trip, so I’ll go with that.
I’ll stick to my occasional “bark at the moon” episodes fueled by alcohol.
I’m a Barrister as well. Class of ‘73 though my uncle and aunts went there in the 30’s and 40’s. My mom had to go to Belmont because Marshall wasn’t built yet.
I graduated in 55 and my wifes cousin and his wife were 44.
I have my aunt’s 1942 yearbook.
They also have a well done Alumni Newsletter.
They are both deceased.
I see a teen with wavy hair with the surname Williams in grade B10 Home Room 306.
“That sucks.”
Weired the hell out me.
” OTOH, living in modern day Amerika is a bad trip, so Ill go with that.”
Yeah, you don’t need any drugs to take a “bad trip”, that’s for sure.
I don't know how much I drank, but we left there immediately along with most of the other guests. I had to drive about ten miles home. I don't remember any wild hallucinations, in fact I don't remember much at all, but I missed the driveway. I learned that the next day from tire tracks. Needless to say, we severed all ties with that coworker.
That would have the summer of 1970. That would also be our first AND last experience with LSD. We had three boys to raise and had no time for drugs or druggies.
“...Ive never met anyone whos even tried heroin....”
I knew a few people that died from it, in my old neighborhood. Two of them were dear friends of mine, that I’d known since I was very small.
Life is full of choices. Some of those choices are stupid.
“Weired the hell out me.”
I’m sure it did.
“Yeah, you dont need any drugs to take a bad trip, thats for sure.”
No, no you don’t. Bring back the 50’s...
“After we drank it, he announced that it was “spiked” with LSD.”
What a SOB!!! Bastard. That’s just wrong on every level.
Thank God y’all didn’t get injured.
“Life is full of choices. Some of those choices are stupid.”
Amen.
Ain't that the truth. I've been told by those who are supposed to know that being blindsided is a sure way to guarantee a "bad trip", as if there is a good trip.
Today, I wouldn't hesitate to call the law, and I have little use for cops.
Call the police...or extract your own revenge?
I usually vote for “extract”...
Thank The Lord you’re safe.
