ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff has obtained a letter that an oil rig worker in Vietnam wrote to his employer claiming he saw Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 go down in flames.
Mr. Woodruff tweeted an image of the letter saying,

Someone somewhere saw or heard something and may hesitant to say anything
That so weird
Yeah, they are either incompetent, corrupt or both. In many cases incompetently corrupt. On the other hand the US is very competent and completely corrupt.
Nothing there but a southbound delta winged jet, painted green.
Assuming it’s not a hoax.
If the plane was wildly off its flight plan, it is conceivable that it could have been shot down.
The oil rig guy is nowhere near the flight path.
You would think that FB picture would be a lead story. Not every day one looks out the window of a plane in mid air and see another plane on fire across the sky.
It was never wildly off of its flight path when the transponder quit.
That certainly is within the realm of possibility.
President Obama smugly told Bob Woodward (cited above)that the US could just absorb another 9-11 attack. I think China would absorb an attack, blame it on their Muslim separatists and use it as an excuse to go in and kill thousands. But making themselves the bad guy is very unlikely. It is almost impossible to keep something like this secret. When the Soviet premier came out and said they didn’t shoot down KAL-007, Reagan produced the recording of the ground controllers ordering the pilot to fire his missile. They know better than to lie. It seems very improbable that anybody shot it down. It’s most likely it was hijacked and then crashed due to whatever was going on in the cockpit. Or, it might just have been a spectacular “oops!”
The rig at that location does not match the name in his letter.

Thats a vietnamese rig. His name doesn’t sound Vietnamese.
“The oil rig guy is nowhere near the flight path.”
At this point... What difference does it make?
(Sorry, somebody had to do it...) ;-)
I don’t think anyone picked up the calls. The fact that the phones rang only means that the towers or satellites were trying to connect with the phones.
Besides, all the batteries would be dead by now anyway.
That photo looks horrible. Those poor people!
I call Hoax on the letter.
...3rd world cultures and government bureaucracies amuse me...
yeah just like the USA
It doesn't have to be intentional......Back in November they scrambled jets to investigate U.S. and japanese aircraft in the E. China sea.......and tensions have been increasing in the S. China sea as China is attempting to expand their territorial claim in that area.
As a side note, following the typhoon that hit the Phillipines, the U.S. sent one aircraft carrier, two cruisers and one destroyer plus two supply ships to help in the humanitarian relief.
That's an awful lot of naval force so the question that needs to be asked, was this truly humanitarian relief or a "show of force" to the Chinese who have been rattling their swords in that region?
