"one of the pilots shut off the transponders and other electrical signal emitting systems on that plane so that it became invisible. My thoughts, but not for the reason most here believe.

My theory is . . . The navigational box (FMC) was inputted wrong. Wrong waypoint. No one double checked as per procedure and they went there merry way. Got to top of climb, asked for dinner, bullshitting with flight attendants. Not paying attention. Captain closes his eyes to rest. Plane turn to wrong inputted waypoint. At night, no one really feels it or checks it. After period of time they realise they are not where they are suppose to be.

Pilots turn OFF transponder in a effort to cover up their mistake. Yeah, I know its stupid on their part, but actually its more common practice than anyone here realises

Culturally, they will not ask for help, nor admit they made a mistake to anyone outside the cockpit. They now are in a panic for many reasons. Mostly their job and career. Fully desperate, they may even go low below the radar so to speak, so as not be seen until they figure things out

After that anyones guess. Do they panic more? The autopilot has become disengaged without anyone realising it? That could occur if pilots are frantically inputting and pressing engage, or moving the control in a upset/panic mode to get plane turn in the right direction. Happens many times. Yes their is a warning horn for when it becomes disengaged, but in this scenario both heads are down "in the box" as we call it or mostly focused on other tasks at hand. No one is paying attention nor flying the plane. No delegation of duties. They desperately trying to figure where they are at and how to get back to where they are suppose to be.

In a slow descent, no one paying attention, or plane rolls inverted and now they are completely and hopelessly situationally lost.

For you non believers and conspiracy buffs, I just described numerous crashes that have taken place before. However, most are found on land.

Fire away flamers

plane rolls inverted

I remember one of the self-overrated Kennedies flying upside down in the haze before diving into the ocean, but can that happen in a jumbo? Isn't there some sort of automatic thing to prevent that?

Wow! A logical, rational, calm analysis of what might have happened to this plane without involving Chinese, Malaysian, Russian, Ukrainian or Obama secret missiles, suicide bombers who book onward flights to Germany to meet their mothers, isolated airstrips, hidden caves, anthrax bombs, or alien abduction.

How very boring, I was really enjoying discovering just how many utter headbangers actually hung around this website and now you’ve ruined it all with your completely sensible post

Just as likely Egypt Air 990.

Not very likely. AFAIK pilots don't manually enter the waypoints, coordinates, etc., by themselves but data already preloaded, we had in special 8-track mag tape, now maybe in special disk or uploaded.

This MH370 lost in the night sky is out of ordinary:

ATC transponder was turned off (like the 9-11 hijackers did, you'd be flying as UFO without squaking)

ADS-B stopped transmitting

Subang ATC couldn't contact the plane but a Narita-bound 777 pilots got them on radio (VHF?) whoever in the other end didn't sound like neither MH370 pilots.

Families saw some passengers' smartphones online on Tecent QQ, how on earth could that be?
