I also found my own glorious mother-in-law (who my wife and I don't speak to - Mexico) actually like many others came in here and claimed amnesty by paying $600 to someone to fake her papers (fraud) to say she was here before and had a job. MIL came here AFTER the amnesty (as many others also did) after 30 years here she speaks no English still and manages food stamps, EBT, and maybe got herself on disability on our nickel.

This was one of the few major errors made by Reagan. What happened was that he and Tip O’Neil supposedly had a deal, “one Old Irishman to another”. But Tip, as all Democrats do, lied to Reagan and never kept his part of the deal. Reagan should have followed his own “trust but verify” commandment. Or as Ann Coulter puts it, “never trust a Liberal over three years old”.
