In Florida District 13's special election to replace the late Rep. Bill Young (R-FL), Young's former aide David Jolly leads the race with almost all votes counted. Jolly faced off against Democratic nominee Alex Sink, a former financial officer for the state of Florida, and Libertarian candidate Lucas Overby. With 98.2% reporting, Jolly holds 48.4% of the vote with 87,700 votes. Sink follows with 46.7% and 84,574 votesand Overby at 4.8% and 8,765 votes.

*yawn*. We need to see RINO leadership defeated before such victories mean anything.
3,126 vote margin for Jolly—outside the “margin of fraud”?
“We should encourage a Green to run to offset the libertarian damage.”
BTTT
“We need to see RINO leadership defeated before such victories mean anything.”
Very true.
What do you think of Greg Brannon’s chances of winning the nomination in NC over squish Tillis?
All the results are in less military and provisional votes.
If all of these were for Sink(a despicable candidate)she could not win.
I’m having too much fun:
“Daily Kos Elections Morning Digest: Sink crushes Jolly in special election fundraising, again”
As best I can tell, Overby is a true Libertarian. However, he’s an open borders guy and disqualifies him from my vote. Of course, a lot of libertarians believe in open borders as well, so no surprise there. At least in this case, he doesn’t seem to be a liberal masquerading as a libertarian.
“..almost handed it to the progressive DemocRat candidate..”
That is what scares me about the General election. The Perot syndrome - a third candidate could sink our ship. It is also in the DNC playbook. They have been known to pay right leaning candidates to run as third party to siphon off Republican/Conservative. It works.
That other guy was not a “plant”, he was the official state party libertarian nominee, and a full on libertarian.
The official libertarian position on immigration is to fully, and truly, literally, open the border and fire the Border Patrol and the INS.
“this is a District that Obama carried. Twice.”
Yes, but republicans have held this 13th District seat since 1983.
This was not an encouraging win. More like a squeaker. He should have gotten 50% of the vote at least.
Had this election been during a presidential election year when the rats’ base turns out he would have lost.
Democrats will have a hidden box of votes somewhere.
yes! like when Ralph Nader took votes away from Al Gore in 2000... the Green/Reform Party ticket... :)
I think its very possible IF conservatives are ready to work for it. I have done calls for Brannon’s campaign. I have donated money. The guy would be as tenacious as Cruz in the senate. We really should push this guy. He’s no Stockman.
I think if Rand and Mike who have endorsed him, will stick their necks out a little, and go and campaign for him hard, stump for him, we can win. Tillis is unacceptable, a Rovian. Rick Berg waiting to happen.
Who are some of the fake Soros-backed tea party people?
He may even be a sincere, for-real candidate. However, given the symbolic importance of this little by-election, I sincerely doubt it. Smells Soros-bad. Took 9,000 votes from Jolly, who himself ain't no box'o'chocolates, but a heap better than the carpet-bagger Obamaslut, Sink.
My precinct workers told me that turnout was very, very big, which even if Jolly wins, might be the best news of all. We need turnout to overcome fraud pockets here in the county of the newly wed and nearly dead.
YEAH!!!
Wow this time our side won with a Clintonian plurality.
The regime is definitely sucking bilge water.
