It wouldn’t surprise me if they were the ones who splashed it.

The latest news indicates the transponder was deliberately shut off and the plane ‘diverted’ from its course in a major way. Like 9-11, but what was their target out in the South China Sea, Hong Kong?

Let China fight the “War of Terror” (yes I put in “of” instead of “on” Terror...)

They would at least get results because something tells me they wouldn’t bind the hands of their soldiers like they used to bind the feet of their women...

We know that gov'ts don't tell the truth unless it's in their interest to do so.

Is it in China's interest to see that the truth of what happened to this plane gets out?

E.g., in TWA 800, it was in the interest of the US gov't to cover up the truth, so we were given the story that it was a spontaneous fuel tank explosion.

Interesting theory. Maybe it was a Chinese dissident?

If the Chinese cannot track a domestic plane in their part of the planet,
they better not ever ---- with the USA or Israel. And we do know where they sleep.

I doubt the Chinese “splashed” the plane.

If it was a terrorist attack it was probably directed against the PRC which has been sticking it’s bridge-less nose into everyone’s business in that part of the world. China basically claims any speck of land in South East Asia where any Chinese sailor went 1000 years ago. The Chinese are not well liked in the region.

I have been telling my Chinese friends that they should get ready for the Anti-Chinesism blow back of their actions that are going to replace that old standby Anti-Americanism

If so, they went the wrong way. Stay on course, seize control on approach, and take your pick of targets in Beijing.

When has China every been squeamish about arresting dissidents and tossing them in jail for a couple of decades? If there was a dissident onboard they would have arrested him when he got to Beijing and that would be the end of it. Why wipe out an entire airplane?

There’s a thread about a major Chinese Oil & Gas guy, living in Canada, on the passenger manifest. If I’m China, and I need Freescale’s avionics diagrams, I take the plane somewhere I can confiscate the avionics data.

This is also true of Iran.

This is also true of Somalia, paid Pirate state.

Possibly why no Statesmen of any nation are addressing this. No reason to go to war over a simple Boeing designs theft, via Freescale.

I’m hoping that China has an interest in not covering up this incident. Despite being a habitual liar (like MSNBC!), China may want the truth to come out here.
