Saturday European officials indicated two of the people on board were using passports that had been stolen in Thailand. On Sunday Malaysias transport minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, said Malaysian intelligence officials were also checking the identities of two other passengers, according to The Associated Press.
All the four names are with me and have been given to our intelligence agencies, Hishammuddin said, according to The AP. We do not want to target only the four; we are investigating the whole passenger manifest. We are looking at all possibilities.

Airport security is a total joke from the no-fly lists to the gropers.
Plane for parts, people for ransom, those who can’t be ransomed sold into slavery. Counties on the boycott, by the US, list also need airline parts.
This is starting to sound more and more like a terrorist attack. I suppose it could have been a sudden catastrophic mechanical failure or explosion. Who knows?
BBC is reporting that the holders of two stolen passports bought their tickets together.
We do not want to target only the four;”
...could that be because they’re of the “religion of pieces” and profiling just isn’t fair?
This was not a US flight, I don’t know if there are any groper in Malaysia where it originated. But I did read elsewhere that the airport security there is considered very good. FWIW.
I know about the Austrian who reported his passport stolen two years ago.
I know about the Italian who reported his stolen last August.
What is supposed to happen? I suppose the issuing country puts out a bulletin saying that Italian passport # 12345678 to Luigi Maldagi (I forget his real name) was stolen.
Are the airport ticket agents supposed to run a background check on every passenger's passport? That seems too much?
What, then?
Soetoro’s Amish sons AGAIN ...
I’m not disputing that this could have been terrorism, although now they are saying the flight may have turned back which, to me, would indicate it had some problems (could still be terrorists I suppose).
But where are the credit takers? In a case like this doesn’t the group claim credit for what it did and give its motivation?
Conflicting report from Reuters:
“Malaysian Transport Minister Hishamuddin Hussein said authorities were also checking the identities of two other passengers, other than the men on the Austrian and Italian passports. Azharuddin Abdul Rahman, the head of the department of civil aviation, later told reporters only two passengers were being investigated”.

Given that the flight originated in Malaysia, it's likely that most of the passengers were Muslims.
“The BBC reported that the men using their passports had purchased tickets together and were flying on to Europe from Beijing, meaning they did not have to apply for a Chinese visa and undergo further checks.
An employee at a travel agency in Pattaya, in Thailand, told Reuters the two had purchased the tickets there.”
“at this point”
Key phrase (imho) in link and seems to be repeating in other reports ... </I>Hishamuddin, who is also defense minister. “I have indicated to our intelligence agencies and I have also spoken to international intelligence agencies for assistance.”</I>
Religion of feces.
