Yer tellin me.
I have encountered several things in the past few days frozen to the ground. Sometimes it’s my snowblower, a piece of firewood, a shovel or some other implement.
Once I had a long crowbar with one end frozen in the ice, leaning up against the side of the house. I’d liked to never had gotten it out...like it was welded to the ground.
I was going to use it to pry something else loose.
I already have my Oscar speech thanking the peons to make me so amazing, written.
Actually it is dedicated to my FReeper friends.
As far as Dr Ben and the 2nd amendment, I am totally in the dark about how he feels about it but the comment way up above said he thought we might have a different standard for some parts of the country and not others. Maybe that means leave it up to localities? states? community standards? Or maybe he meant you should be able to go out on the back porch and do some plinking if you live in the country or wide open spaces, but if you are in a NYC tenement, it might be a good idea to now allow that.
Some folks take such a comment to mean he is an enemy of the 2nd Amendment.
I don’t. And I too am not a 100 percenter.
RG, see if you can find out what he shoots. I bet he has never broken a real 90 in his life. Doubt he drives more than 180 yds. See if you can find out his score.
LOl
My guess is after today he may clarify his second amendment stance.
I’ll see if i can find out,Rush keeps saying he’s not any good but thats just a good general statement describing him.
I wish Rush would invite him to a round of golf to rattle him. Bet it would make more news than Putin.
Hopefully everyone will read the entire piece here's a clip.

When I was in high school, I joined the ROTC initially because I was attracted to the uniforms. I figured they would provide an opportunity to escape the constant berating by fellow students owing to my outdated clothing. I was fascinated with the guns and became an excellent marksman, winning several marksmanship awards. I also led a drill team, which was very advanced with the art of disassembling and reassembling military rifles in record time. I advanced through the ranks, eventually becoming the citys ROTC executive officer and was offered a scholarship to West Point. I gained great respect for the military and its role in procuring and maintaining our freedom. I also gained great appreciation for firearms, as well as an understanding of how they can be used for great good or great harm. I think he already has. Got turned down. No way to install a mini teleprompter in his head to answer Rush’s questions.
According to several translations Putin is willing to put women and children in front of his soldiers if the Ukrainian army dares to shoot at his troops.
Although... He gives us both the pro and the con argument.
Treating gun rights like a license to drive is a dead end. Licensing is just a pretext to confiscation, IMHO. There is no right to drive enshrined in the Constitution. He says it's not a perfect analogy, so I do have respect for that. Still, he does acknowledge the real reason—protection from government tyranny and a human’s innate right to protect themselves.
He's probably seen way to many killings in the ghetto, but they way out of that is to go after the bad guys, not everyone who obeys the law. Consider that ghetto killers' victims are usually other ghetto people (am I racist for putting it that way?), it would be a great help to that part of our society, too.
Bottom line for me Carson has an open mind on the second amendment. This is after becoming an accomplished marksman. Not a deal killer for me.
I just had to phrase it that way for effect.
Missed the 200!
I agree on open mind for Dr Ben on 2nd amendment. I like a guy to have an “open mind” on everything except the core, bedrock principles. But these are not always black and white. Do I favor accessability to machine guns or RPG’s to any old Tom, Dick or Harry? No. I am comfortable with what the laws have been up until the turn of the century. Subsequently to that the US Supreme Court made it crystal clear that the 2nd Amendment is an INDIVIDUAL right and not just reserved to a state militia. Prior federal court decisions made it unclear and murky, if not the other way around. Therefore, Gun Rights should have been settled and allowed to go undisturbed. However, Obama and his ilk have redoubled their efforts to gun grab. This has forced us into a struggle we cannot ignore. But Ben Carson is NOT the problem. Obama, Bloomberg and the Democrats are the problem.
Totally agree great post.
Thanks for all the great info!
