Full Title:Obama Surgeon General Pick Wants Doctors to Ask Patients About Guns in Home Include Info in Obamacare Database
Vivek was the co-founder and president of Doctors for America, which began as Doctors for Obama in 2008.
Vivek also wants doctors to ask patients, including children, if there are any firearms in their home. This would be included on their file that would be shared with several government agencies under Obamacare. Investors Business Daily reported:
Murthy is the 36-year-old president and co-founder of the anti-gun group Doctors for America, which advocates ObamaCare and gun control laws.
His group, which has been dubbed Docs vs. Glocks, has pushed Congress to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
He also wants to spend more tax dollars on more research to prove that fewer guns mean a lower crime rate, despite the fact that a number of reputable studies prove the opposite.
At a recent hearing before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, Sen. Lamar Alexander inquired about Murthys social media comments on firearms, such as this tweet before the 2012 presidential election: Tired of politicians playing politics w/ guns, putting lives at risk b/c theyre scared of NRA. Guns are a health care issue.
Murthys Twitter timeline is chock-full of his anti-firearms screeds.
NRA press conference disappointing but predictable blame everything in the world except guns for the Newtown tragedy. #wakeup, he tweeted in December 2012.
Doctors for America has also promoted the invasion of privacy by doctors by allowing them to ask patients if they have guns at home, including asking children if their parents own guns, and pushing back against Florida Gov. Rick Snyders decision to sign into law a bill prohibiting doctors there from asking the question.

Just tell them no, no matter how many you may have. F them.
Are you accepting new patients?
I have absolutely NO problem saying “It’s none of your business what I have or don’t have, in the privacy of my home.”
Docs may be required to ask, but I’m NOT required to answer.
Secondly, though my children are grown now, I NEVER allowed a doctor to be alone in the room with my children, PERIOD.
Thirdly, I also have NO problem firing a doctor, a plumber, a nurse, a cabinet hanger, housekeeper or any other person whom *I* hire, and pay, to work for ME.
If people are foolish enough to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars, blood, sweat and tears to become doctors, and they allow government to walk on them like that, then they really don’t belong in medicine.
The President is Liar in Chief, and every component of this government lies, to us and to the world.
At the point where a "health care professional" becomes a political agent for the State, I no longer trust that individual to look out for my best interests as a patient. I will go through the motions with them, and answer their questions in a manner designed to attract the least attention, and I will affect a demeanor that is passive, and dull, and compliant ... just what progressives want from their livestock.
And BTW, if we really are at the point where we cannot interact with our doctor without fear of political blackmail ...
Nothing the goose stepping fascists do anymore surprises me. It’s getting to look a lot like the good ole days of the Third Reich. Time to get rid of these Demonkrats and their ilk.
That mozzie in the lab coat looks like Obama borrowed him from al-Qaeda.
Don’t mind the MOSLEM trying to grab your guns, folks.
Islam is the Religion of Peace
“Do I have any Jews in my house? Why would you want to know if there any Jews in my house?”
Now, that's what I call Czarist English....
The arrogance of that sneering stare & those folded arms just leaps out at you.
Glowering Goebbels didn’t like people offhandedly taking his picture. But our new SurgGen looks like he has just been handed vast dictatorial powers.
For the record, I have found most Indian physicians born & raised here to be thoroughly American & likeable. But the ones who came here from India are insufferably high-caste and arrogant. This one sounds like one of the latter.
Plead the fifth like they do
This “do you own firearms” question was on my doctor’s questionnaire several years ago. If you answered yes there were other questions which I skipped over because I said, no.
No. I have no guns. Guns are scary and put people’s eyes out.
Ask the Doc if he ever killed a patient or has a Malpractice suit pending or has he ever settled one.
Then ask him if he owns a sports car, smokes or drinks.
Two can play that game.
If you say “no” & it is found out later that you do have a gun & you are accused of lying, just remind them about who lied to who first.
That seems to run in the family...
We terminated our pediatrician years ago because of his asking our four kids about weapons in the home. I just had a nice chat with him and told him his services would no longer be needed.
Doctor: “Do you have any guns in your house?”
Flagg: “Who did you vote for in the last election?”
Doctor: “Well, I can’t say.”
Flagg: “Well, there you go, then.”
(Actually, I highly doubt my docs would bother asking -my Wife and I always CCW when going to the doc’s office, and they know it)
