I have noticed these threads are much more civil debate this year. After three months of legal pot in Colorado the chicken little arguments are beginning to fall flat. Time will tell which side of the debate is closer to reality.
The gun grabbers warned of shootouts over parking places if concealed carry became law. Soon we will have real world evidence from legal pot sales. I predict the drug warriors will look like the gun grabbers.

I see 'em as two peas in the same pod. They both have an insatiable desire to tell me what I can and cannot do.
No boundaries.
They're right damnit so they're going to compel everyone to comply with their view of the world.
It's the same philosophy that led to prohibition.
And the results will be the same.
I am an extreme, fanatical social conservative on issues such as queer civil bonding, pro-life, porn and depravity of all kinds. Even am too conservative for most all parishes of my church (Catholic).
But on pot I am neutral or slightly in favor (but definitely not in favor of chronic use, as with alcohol). I am in Washington State.
I get the idea most people here who are strongly opposed are a little older than me (59).
I live in CO. I hope you’re eventually proven right, but so far it looks like you’re terribly wrong.
