His speech was excellent, but he should have won in 2012. Honestly, if not for his cruddy debate performances, he would have been a much more formidable candidate than Romney. Where were you when we needed you, Rick?
He was on lots of medication. No kidding. He was recovering from pretty significant back surgery and between the pain and the muscle relaxants I am surprised he was able to even stand up.
That being said. Can he win? Is he Conservative enough and well spoken enough to make up for the ‘Southern’ accent? He certainly sounds Conservative when he speaks. Does his record back it up?
I had a problem with Perry accusing Romnney of crony capitalism. Romney had a lot of faults as a candidate. Crony capitalism was not one of them.
I’m posting having only heard excerpts, but setting aside the necessity for Christ like spouting continuous Conservative Gospel, Rick was a powerful governor that has a very good track record, spat in the eye of the President and the Attorney General several times.
Cruz and Sarah are good on the stump but Perry and Walker are good, proven very good, in the office. That’s what I want. I want a money man, a business man that has a record of building.
agreed...he was a MASSIVE disappointment in 2016...
I like Rick Perry also. I always thought it was likely the pain killers that contributed to his terrible debate performance. If you watch interviews with him or his speeches he is very articulate and thoughtful. He is a states righter which warms my heart and a facilitator of job creation. God knows we need some of that.
Right now I am OK with Cruz, Paul or Perry in 2016. Maybe Walker I don’t know that much about him yet. I’m concerned he does not have the pazazzz it takes to win the Presidency.
