And, there would be no reason at all for any government agency to interact with an individual person, as it would be the retailers collecting the tax at the point of sale.

Just curious, since you seem to know so much about this. How many inventory audits should the retailer endure each year? Who would perform the audits? Who certifies broken or spoiled product that escapes taxation?

They collect city and state sales tax now, don’t they?
I don’t see where their inventory, spoiled product, etc are getting audited by the city and state.
