He bobbled the spelling, but President Obama had nothing but respect for the "women of soul" who shook and rattled the rafters of the White House Thursday night.
"What a lineup!" Mr. Obama declared at the outset of a concert that featured a generations-spanning array of soul singers stretching from musical legends Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle to 20-year-old Ariana Grande.
Mr. Obama paid tribute to Franklin for turning her signature song "Respect" into "a rallying cry for African-Americans, women and then everyone who felt marginalized."
The pumped-up audience gave a hearty laugh but was more than willing to forgive the president for spelling it "R-S-P-E-C-T."

Another in his Concert Series? How much did this one cost us?
And this guy went to Harvard and Columbia? King Idiot strikes again.
He should have had Bill Ayers there to spell it for him.
Moron. He continues to be an embarrassment.
I feel pretty marginalized by this administration.
Can I use the song too?
I think it is the WEEKLY concert series.
Somebody hunt up Dan Quayle for a comment.
“And this guy went to Harvard and Columbia? King Idiot strikes again.
Just imagine the ridicule that Gw would have had to endure if he had made this gaff? For Barry, just a humorous chuckle....
BTW, when will this genius release his college transcripts?
Fool. R E S P E C T. Give it. Get it?
You’re not black enough.
Our tax dollars paid for that show.
again.
Better yet, Stage a golf match between Obama and Dan
Quayle and Televise it. It would be as entertaining as Caddy Shack and the Ryder Cup.
If a normal person had done it he would have been called racist.
The Clown cannot spell.
Remember when the press tore Dan Quayle to pieces for “misspelling” potato (actually it was a campaign dirty trick to pass him a spelling flash-card with potato misspelled).
If you remember, back in the 1st campaign, McCain had made a blunder about some nonsensical ‘fact’ and they jumped on him like “White on Rice’ (oops there is that Racist coming out in me again) claiming he was old, senile, out of touch and maybe just a bit ‘tetched in da head’ (ALL of which were probably true).
Few days later BO made a similar ‘mistake’ (really meaningless- but guess they figured someone would try to capitalize on it) and it was pooh pooed off as the result of the ‘non stop grind of a hard fought campaign, lack of sleep’ etc......
Yes, tell me again about ‘NO BIAS’ when it comes to reporting(?).
