AUSTIN, Texas Texas is holding the nation's first primary election Tuesday with a political free-for-all in Republican races that could push the state further right, though Democrats are calling it the next big electoral battleground.
Republican Gov. Rick Perry has decided this would be his last of a record 14 years in office, and his looming exit has set off a scramble resulting in the most open races in Texas in more than a decade.
Republicans are favored to win them all come November including Perry's seat, despite Democrat Wendy Davis building a national profile and an early $16 million fundraising haul to match. She has energized Texas Democrats, who haven't won a statewide race in 20 years but insist the tide is turning....

Yayyyy! Another Texas thread!
Does anyone think Wendy Davis seriously has a chance of becoming Governor of Texas or is it a shoe-in for Greg Abbott?
I early voted in small central TX county last week.
During my 15 minutes there, not one single voter stepped to the democRAT table. All voters went to the republican side.
The old rat gals at the criminal table looked like they had been sucking on lemons....
I’ll be watching the returns come in this evening if I can find a good “real-time” results link.
I hope your primary results are a precursor for great things to come in 2014.
In case you wonder what they mean by "the tide":
Went and voted against Medina, Cornyn, Patrick, Dewhurst..
Hope Sessions and Cornyn get shown the door.
And I SINCERELY HOPE ANOTHER DAMN BUSH doesn’t get elected - for ANYTHING. They are a passel of counterfit Conservatives, not the real thing.
I’ll be voting in a few hours. Can’t wait to help flush Cornyn into the nether regions.
>> is it a shoe-in for Greg Abbott?
Shoe-in for Abbott. This time.
Next time? Depends on how many wetbacks get amnesty between now and then. And how many Kalifornicators and unemployed Yankees come here for the milk and honey and bring their liberal politics.
If you caught the recent Project Veritas secret video, you'll see that Dems are working overtime to break the law to make this a close race. I don't think they'll do it, especially if Texans remain vigilant, but they'll try every trick to fraud this election.
Man!! I am so anxious to see the polling numbers start coming in!
George III didn’t get my vote, I can assure you.
I’m always amazed how refugees from California can liberalize a state (my niece did that for Colorado) and yet California keeps getting more blue as the liberals depart.
Having said that, I wanted to post this again. It's basically a rehash of what we did in the 80's...
How much has our military been weakened since Reagan? We know the Leftists have completely jacked the economy since Reagan. Looks to me like before we're able to deal effectively with Russia and any other aggressors in the future, we've got to do what the American people and Reagan did in the 80's - go after the bad guys and fix things at home first, then go after the bad guys elsewhere:
1) oust the current regime in Washington DC
2) get the economy back on right footing by HUGE CUTS IN GOVERNMENT AND TAXES and letting the free market do what it does best: CREATE WEALTH,
3) Build the military back up once again to the world's strongest (weakness not strength invites war),
4) take down the NSA and other threats to American citizens
5) build up our intelligence community to make it first rate
Whatever aggressor-country hotspots including the Ukraine are relevant after 1-5 is done...
6) with good and verified intelligence, we should covertly work with the forces of freedom in the threatened country. In the case of the Ukraine if its still relevant, discern whether eastern Ukraine wants to join Russia and whether western Ukraine does not,
7) THEN, with actual and overwhelming force at our disposal, we should condemn the aggressor (Russia in this case) for threatening to invade the threatened country (Ukraine in this case) and move forces into the area with full intention of defending those that want to remain free,
8) we should seek diplomacy with the aggressor nation on the basis of our strength not weakness and any treaties or agreements should be based on trust but verify.
Note: We should NOT do what Bush did and start invading countries to force them to become democratic. That is NOT what America is here for. But we ARE here to help ourselves and others defend freedom against unwanted aggression and oppression.
For the sake of TEXAS and the rest of the country, Greg Abbot has to annihilate the Queen of Baby Killers. I mean completely destroy her and the rest of the RAT ticket. No prisoners!
>> and yet California keeps getting more blue as the liberals depart.
They have their OWN problem with inflows from their southern border.
