Didn’t Hitler claim Austria was hosting agitators, and used that as an excuse to move in? I know he used protecting ethnic Germans as an excuse to annex the Sudetenland, just as Pooty-Poot is using “protecting ethnic Russians”

You would have thought someone in the media would have taken one history course.

OH wait, using the H word (Hitler) or the other N word (Nazi) is only for Republicans.

And we have a Secretary of State who thinks that this is all just about the Crimean Peninsula.

NATO has had an Article 4 meeting at Poland’s request. There haven’t been many Article 4 meetings in the history of NATO.

"You would have thought someone in the media would have taken one history course."

As a former of the (local) news media, I can say without equivocation that you're more right than you know. Not that a college degree is any indication of intelligence, or even that the person learned anything worthwhile at all, but many, if not most radio reporters, anchors and producers I worked with over the years didn't have a degree. In some cases, they never had any formal training in news; they were former board operators who got promoted to the news room. The key requirement for employment in radio these days is are you willing to work for the woefully inadequate, barely higher than minimum wage they offer.

In local TV, most reporters and producers I worked with did have degrees, but they also ranged in age from 22 to about 28, so they knew nothing about anything. Therefore, whatever liberal horsecrap they're told by their news directors or anchors, they take as gospel.

Producers, btw, are really the most powerful people behind your evening newscast. They decide how the 'cast is "stacked"...which stories go into the newscast, how much time each story receives, and which get dropped as the 'cast progresses, due to time constraints. As you watch your local news tonight, keep in mind that unless you're in a large market, the person controlling the show is probably well under 30 years old. Scary stuff, considering how people still accept their nightly newscast as "the way it is".

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
