He was not impeached under the Ukrainian Constitution. There are very limited grounds for impeachment, and a trial must be held, and the Ukrainian Constitutional Court has to review it.

A trial? He immediately took off to a foreign country and asked them to use Armed Forces against his country? Surely now there has to be grounds.

They did not follow the constitutional procedure for removing Yanukovich.

His removal was clearly unconstitutional.

The procedure is defined in article 112, and they didn’t follow it at all.

Leaving the country for a week is not a resignation, especially when he explicitly says “I do not resign”.

The constitution is not the final arbiter of what is right and wrong. Jefferson said sometimes revolutions are necessary.

But no way was this a constitutional ouster.
