“What, me worry?” seems to be the operating philosophy of President Obama as a serious crisis brews in Eastern Europe. Daniel Halper reports an almost unbelievable level of Obama nonchalance toward his national security responsibilities in the Weekly Standard:
A White House official emailed some reporters to say that President Obama's team met today to discuss the ongoing situation on Ukraine. It appears President Obama did not attend."The President's national security team met today to receive an update on the situation in Ukraine and discuss potential policy options. We will provide further updates later this afternoon," reads the full statement.
But:
According to Time magazine's Zeke Miller, Obama skipped the meeting. "Obama did not attend the meeting, but WH official says he has been briefed by Susan Rice and his national security team," says Miller.

I’m not sure what white house officials think their achieving by letting everyone know this president is aloof or too busy, or otherwise has the appearance of being disinterested when these kinds of situations come up,
Is this some way to allow for important decisions to be made that he can later disavow as not his own when they go south?
Hope Israels peaceniks are taking notes, this same president is the one that promises to have your back when you give everything up, (just so long as any future mid east crisis doesn’t interfere with his golf schedule)

The reason for him to attend this meeting would have been for him to provide leadership rather than to listen to the team. This abdication is notice by the world and his measure is further confirmed.

I’m not certain I understand you, Do you mean he is bullying all Americans - who are now too stupid to understand what is going on?
If that is not what you mean, then I am puzzled, as it appears to me that he is bullying people like Nuns - The Little Sisters of the Poor, Evangelicals, Tea Party folks, gun owners, etc. and, that group of people do know what is going on - and that is precisely why Obama is bullying them.
This gives him another “I didn’t know” situation ..

The Israelis should be the most concerned about Putin’s aggression in the region, with Obama’s complacency, Putin may very well decide to turn an eye towards Israel.
