You probably haven't heard of Chris Mapp, a South Texas boat salesman and one of the six also-rans challenging John Cornyn in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, and here's hoping you never have occasion to hear of him again after March 4.
If you do, chances are disconcertingly high that it will somehow involve a smoking rifle and a dead Mexican. That would at least be in line with what he told the center-right editorial board of The Dallas Morning News, the most influential newspaper in the state:
South Texas businessman Chris Mapp, 53, told this editorial board that ranchers should be allowed to shoot on sight anyone illegally crossing the border on to their land, referred to such people as "wetbacks," and called the president a "socialist son of a bitch." Mapp elaborates on the topic on his campaign website.
"Let's face it," he writes, "there would be a lot less concrete, roofs, and landscaping without illegal immigrants (yes, illegal immigrants - that is what they are)."
But Mapp isn't anti-immigrant per se. "It is important to accept new citizens but it is important to know: who they are, their background, and that they will contribute in a positive way to be good citizens."
And who are these "good citizens"? Glad you asked.
The term good citizen means earning your own way, paying taxes, No entitlements, No food stamps, NO FREE HEATH CARE, NO HAVING NUMEROUS NEW BORNS TO COLLECT MORE WELFARE, no free housing, no obama phones, and no right to vote for the first three years. They must be willing to pledge allegiance to this country, speak English and have a job which has taxes deducted like anyone else. NO SPECIAL TREATMENT. A tax return, even if no funds are owed, must be filed in order

How does the GOP attract such whack jobs?
It’s this kind of idiot that assists the msm in painting all Republicans as racist, extremist, nut jobs.
He just blew it with the “shoot the wetbacks” statement.
A. He was quoted out fo context
B. He is a former Democrat who is being set up as a “Poison Pill” candidate.
C. ????? (Your opinion)
He is probably a Democrat running as a Republican to give them a bad name
Actually this is what Eisenhower had troops do in the 1950s and voila, more than 3 million illegals high-tailed it back across the border.
Those who say it is impossible to deport 12 million or 20 million illegals are full of it. Spread fear with a few small examples and there will be caravans full of illegals racing for the border.
I really have to wonder if some of the foot-in-mouth Republicans are “Poinson Pills” that are somehow funded fromthe other side...
C: He spoke the simple truth. Illegal aliens are criminal invaders, and the president is a socialist and a thoroughly unpleasant person. Oh, yes: Leftist Big Media wants to control what you think and conceal the truth from you.
“He is probably a Democrat running as a Republican to give them a bad name”
Yep. I should have thought of that.
Thanks!
An 1868 Cattle Ranchers Law in Texas which still is in effect to date states you can shoot anyone that trespasses onto your property can be shot because they deem harm to you and your livelihood.
This law has been challenged for over 100 years, but Texas makes the defense that a person who trespasses onto your property likely does not have a legal right to be there and also does not intend not to harm you or deprive you of your property and or life.
It’s legal in Texas, if you deem them a threat.
Welcome to Texas :)
He’s more than likely a Democrat masquerading as the Republican and being absurd at the same time.
The man sounds like a patriot to me.
This sounds like somebody sent to our side in order to make the GOP look foolish and dangerous. I’ve seen this before, but they are usually a little more subtle. If this guy is a real republican, he is in it for himself only, negative blow back on the party be damned. This myopic selfishness makes him unsuitable for office anyway.
Thank you!
I support his right to say how he feels about this particular subject. Texas is being invaded and no one, state or federal, is doing a damned thing about it.
If Texas would make the environment hostile enough, they’d stop coming.
By hostile I mean no freebies and English as the primary language.
You should stop wondering. The left may not be involved in this candidates particular case, but they certainly have a history of those kinds of things.
Exactly. Unfortunately, look at how many geniuses we got here on this thread AGREEING with him!

He shoudln’t have used the term “wetback”. He should have simply stated that any property owner has the right to defend their property against trespasssers and also have the right to use deadly force if their feel their life or the lives of their family are in jeopardy.
Sometimes I think some of the conservatives out there are not self-aware on how so much of the media battle is about perception. Libs also suffer from this, but since the media is in their pocket it doesn’t affect them as much.
We also have to fight a media war against a hostile media.
Why it look like the corrupt MSM got themselves another tool to bludgeon Republicans with. What took them so long? Look for the corrupt MSM to aid their Leftist brethren by flogging the GOP with this guy.
They did it with David Duke, Todd Aikin, and countless others. Yet, Joe - All 7-11 employees must be Indians - gets a typical MSM pass.
The MSM needs to go first!
