NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Friday marks the end of the two-week period within which U.S. Sen. Bob Corker promised Volkswagen would announce another line at its factory in Tennessee if workers there rejected representation by the United Auto Workers union.
So far there's little sign of any pending announcement.

Seeing as how the UAW has appealed the election, why would they be in any hurry to announce anything?
VW isn’t so thrilled about losing the vote anyways.
Won’t happen.
Back in Germany, their unions have seats on the board, by law. They don’t like this development and are fighting any potential Chattanooga expansion.
VW does not need the union headache at all its other plants.
Its always a bad idea to promise what someone else will do.
The reasons why many unions sprung into existence, was because the workers could not trust management to do the right thing. It literally boils down to the statement “I despise management so much, that I am willing to PAY someone I do not personally know, to talk to management and FORCE them to do what was originally promised”.
So, when someone PROMISES the workers something; and fails to deliver, people are going to get angry. Integrity is like virginity - once lost, it’s gone forever.
One thing that has killed the UAW is their 100% alliance with the Baraqqi Coalition. Effective adverts showing the UAW supporting abortion and gun control helped their defeat at VW.
Back in the “old” days some unions like the Teamsters, etc actually supported things like the 2nd amendment, strong defense, etc.
Unions exist for the purpose of collective bargaining with the owners of the company. ANY OTHER activity is STEALING from the union members. Labor law, as regards unions and the relationships among unions, their members, and their members' employers is hopelessly corrupt ... it should all be repealed and replaced.
Volkswagen official threatens to block expansion if workers won't unionize
Eurpeans wanted PATCO to win back in the 80’s. When Reagan broke them it was not just union disbelief here but shock over in Europe.
VW controls their union.
Unions here just glom on to pension funds to push cronyism and who knows what else.
The Tennessee plant was reportedly going to be producing the new VW Bus. If they’d get off their asses and get that ball rolling, they’d be raking it in. Sure, it’d be mostly Yuppie money, but that would be about $40,000 a pop NOT going to Democrat coffers. Well..... IF they can keep the UAW out that is.
dumBO has been lying for five years and the AP gives Corker not two weeks.
