That really wasn’t on Barry though. Remember he came in around the same time as the cap and the Cowboys weren’t in good shape for the cap. Then they did the absolute worst thing you can do in a capped league and deferred a bunch of salary (sure you get to keep some stars today, but you’ve mortgaged the future). Then everybody got old. Star teams unwind, it’s a natural part of sports, when the GM doesn’t know what he’s doing they unwind faster.

The demise of the Cowboys rests squarely on the shoulders of Jerry Jones period!
As for Switzer’s comment. It was stupid and he should have kept it to himself. That being said, I think he was talking about the type of offense he ran at Oklahoma, and if that was his intent Barry was mostly correct. Manziel couldn’t run the Tripple Option Wish Bone the same way J.C. Watts, or Jamiel Holloway did. That’s not Johnny Football’s type of game.
Now for my opinion on Manziel: I don’t think he will be a very good NFL QB. He is Tim Tebow in different wrapping paper. His mechanics are terrible. That and he is a 1st class prick.

Blame Jerry for the sad state of the Cowboys, not of their coaches (past or present.)

As for Manziel, Barry nailed it.......he is an arrogant little prick. He may be good at college ball, remains to be seen about the Pros, but a prick nonetheless.

Don’t understand his comment on recruiting QBs. Context?
