Gov. Jan Brewer on Wednesday vetoed a Republican bill that set off a national debate over gay rights, religion and discrimination and subjected Arizona to blistering criticism from major corporations and political leaders from both parties.
Brewer's decision defused a national furor over gay rights and religious freedom.
The bill backed by Republicans in the Legislature was designed to give added protection from lawsuits to people who assert their religious beliefs in refusing service to gays. But opponents called it an open attack on gays that invited discrimination.
The bill thrust Arizona into the national spotlight last week after both chambers of the state legislature approved it. As the days passed, more and more groups, politicians and average citizens weighed in against Senate Bill 1062. Many took to social media to criticize the bill, calling it an attack on gay and lesbian rights.

While Putin & the Russian people are standing against this “worship of the anus” and trying to protect their children & culture from it. Go figure :-/
The scary thing is that civil war is more and more becoming the “best” option.
The left(democrats) own the news media. the media rules this country . this is why 2% of the population gets everything it wants, the media
so what if a Muslim doesn’t want to sell me something .that’s his right. but i don’t want to buy anything from a Muslim anyway and that is my right. ever heard of freedom?
You are right, that is exactly what happened..that 3 percent of the population is right now in the media, and they control everything and have turned everything you see right now on TV into gay propaganda, its sickening..every single good TV show has turned into “Gay TV” Used to watch Days of Our Lives, not anymore, they have a “Gay couple” kissing each other every single day, had to drop the show, couldnt stomach it anymore
That said, I think if someone doesn't want to do business with group x they should, and group x should find another business to buy from.
There is nothing preventing a business from denying homosexuals goods or services that the business provides to the general public. Under neither federal nor state (AZ) law would the homos have any claim to make. Sexual orientation is not covered as a protected class. Calm down folks.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't In-N-Out Burger still print Bible verses on the bottom of its drink cups?
And if that's the case, I haven't read of anyone boycotting their business because of it.
You’re right. The image I was thinking about was Junior Bush appointing his AIDs CZAR. Of course it was a sodomite who had AIDs. Standing right beside the AIDs CZAR was Junior and his grinning wife like they were proud parents. It was nauseating.
“Time to boycott Arizona. “
And the NFL.
"I told everyone here on Sunday there was zero chance she would sign it. The legislature needs to go back and re-write a statute that specifically carves out certain professions for protection, gain her signature, and add to it later. They were naive to just rush this out there and not think there would be a national blowback."
Good points.
This is ridiculous. This is involuntary servitude. A business should be able to refuse to provide a good or service based on any grounds. There are plenty of other businesses who will fill the void.
She never had much of a backbone. Easily kowtowed.

As usual, Satan’s acolytes in the state-controlled media report outrage only when it’s coming from one of their radical left-wing protected class groups.
I despise these subhuman mongrels with a passion.
I assure you that this will soon change.
Ate some of those once. They are not lying in their reviews.
Yes, that's how it should be.
So this now means a black baker must make a cake for the Klan???
