Now that Karen Willmus can get health insurance through Obamacare, she plans to quit teaching 9th grade English at the end of the school year.
The 51-year-old found policies on the Colorado state exchange for about $300 a month. That's less than what she's paying now for employer-sponsored coverage and less than half what she paid on the individual market in 2007.

A doctor told me that the age you appear to be matters. She looks 20 years older at least.
How much does this woman figure these people will pay for her materials. She has no idea what she will encounter in trying to get her business going. I can't wait to see the followup to her story when failure hits in a year or less.
I have to admit that if obamacare were actually affordable and covered stuff (for myself and wife who is a stroke survivor), I would give thought to quitting my job and starting a business just to try it, but obamacare from what I have read scares me to death and frankly, while spreading risk is what insurance does, knowingly going out and spreading it I’m not comfortable with, if that makes sense. Also, obama is decimating the economy making it that much harder to launch a business. This is just not going to end well I’m afraid.
No mention in article if she’ll be getting a pension from her teaching job. If she’s 51, she could already have 25 or more years in as a teacher. Anybody know about the Colorado education system and if they have a pension program for their teachers?
She has two rude surprises coming. First is the health insurance deductable and second is the regulation hurdle built for startup businesses.
You’ll read that story, but it won’t read like you think.
She’ll be a victim of gender discrimination, she’s in hiding because the Koch Bros put out a hit on her, and without her Obamacare and food stamps she’d starve.
Theres a new Im covered Obamacare commercial running this week with some young chica loving her $76/month policy you and I are paying for.
...the blond chica sounds dumber than a box of rocks when she talks...however, her cuteness saves her, at least a little...
She’s much more “not guilty” than the typical progressive.
Here’s my guess:
It’s Colorado.
She’ll become a grass farmer....
Wait, how is she gonna pay for her health ins, groceries, gas, other bills if she quits her job? This is stupid.
Dems have gone from jobs jobs jobs to quit your jobs!
She obviously doesn’t know how to compare those policies.
I have friends nearly 70 that don’t look that old.
Does her teacher pension not kick in until she’s 60 or something?
The same liberals who were attacking the MI lady with cancer will be outraged if conservatives looks into the data on this woman (deductible, current benefits, pension, etc).
She looks a bit.... creepy
I meant the younger one...
In Indiana it’s 62. Not sure about Colo.
I doubt it cost them a good teacher. lol
