Rick Perry admitted at the RGA today that he was very troubled by Obamas tone today addressing the National Governors Association:
I dont mind telling you I was a bit troubled today by the tone of the president. For the president of the United States to look Democrat and Republican governors in the eye and to say I do not trust you to make decisions in your state about issues of education, about transportation infrastructure that is really troubling.
Perry went on to say that Obama was going to hollow out the National Guard and warned the state governors not to push back against it or they would hear from him:
Democrat Governors are very concerned, I will suggest to you, about what they heard today about the Guard. I left the United States Air Force in the mid 70s, in February of 1977, as our country was going through a similar period of time of reducing the force. But those men and women who had extraordinary expertise in combat were going into the Guard and into the Reserves.
I hope were not about to make a tragic mistake in this country by hollowing out our Guard in our states in some political statement of youre all going to feel the pain. Because thats certainly what I heard from the president of the United States today.
As a matter of fact [Obama] he said in that meeting if I hear any of you pushing back, making statements about Washington spends too much money, youll hear from me.
If Im a Democrat governor, if Im a Republican governor, Im highly offended by that.
Yes it is our duty to defend the people of this country. But I will suggest that making a political statement about the Guard is not in the best long-term interest of this country and its certainly not in the best long-term interest of those men and women who have committed and often times sacrificed greatly for this country.
He thinks he’s “troubled”? How does he think the average person who is getting hammered by these nobama marxists feel?
Ping.
I don’t trust Rick Perry, after his behavior in the Gaurdasil and Trans Texas Corridor debacles
BOHICA
“Will no one rid us of this meddlesome Marxist?”
And so the marxist dictator takes more and more power on to himself, while the populace walks around with its finger up its nose wondering what justin beeber will do next.
Governors, the power of sovereign states is our last peaceful hope of controlling USG, gone way wild.
In office way too long, but still looks like George Washington next to the Kenyan Kommie.
Barry must be removed from office. Any president who sacrifices our military so illegal aliens can get free food stamps and health care is guilty of treason.
I love my Governor. I know there are a lot of people, even FR’ers, who don’t care for him, but he has the best for Texas in his heart, he’s a Christian, and he’s conservative. Texas has done well with his leadership.
You should have put a medical disclaimer on this story. I think my blood pressure just went through the roof!!
‘Sic Semper Tyrannis’
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Eh? Doesn’t obama have a Blackberry and a Bic pen?
I'd come help out.
Emperor Obama has spoken...let it be written by my pen...let it be done. Obama is sounding more like a dictator than the elected president of a Republic with a three branch checks and balances Constitution. I am especially disturbed by his treatment of any dissent as a personal attack on him that will be punished or silenced. I fear he could go so far as to end free elections.
+1.
I’m a Texan, and I like Perry. But these days, “being troubled” has become a career-stretching device. Eventually a bunch of people will have to move from “being troubled” to “being willing to die” if we are to be granted another stretch of real American freedom. Sad, but this seems to be the price of living in a fallen world (see: History).
So true. The only thing that heartens me is the absolute conviction that these people are so arrogant and overreaching regarding their own abilities, that I am very confident they will eventually fail in a big way. The only question is how long that is going to take, and how many people will suffer before this happens.
