Top cop ‘optimistic’ that visiting gang leaders’ homes cuts violence

When 14-year-old Venzel Richardson was shot to death on the South Side earlier this month, Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy ordered his staff to draw up a list of warring gang leaders in the area.

Within 48 hours, the commander of the Grand Crossing District was knocking on their doors, warning them to halt the shooting.

Cmdr. Glenn Evans told the young men they’d face stiff prison terms for their next violent crime. But they also were given a contact for job training and other social services.

No one has been charged with the teenager’s Feb. 12 murder at 61st and Vernon, but the conflict between the gangs in that pocket of Woodlawn ebbed.

A former co-worker of mine from Indonesia told me gang problems were fairly minor there. The cops had a habit of going through local rap sheets on a slow night. The career criminals had a habit of turning up dead. Of course, they investigated. But the investigations generally turned up untraceable causes like street fights which nobody witnessed. Or sudden lead poisoning.

Chief Craig's attitude appears to be spreading across the department and now the assistant chief is saying the same.

McJersey's lifetime abuse of booze is finally catching up to him.

Last week McDrunk totally lost it and went off the deep-end with an insane rant at a District Commander. The reason...because the beat cops in that district, the 7th (007), didn't prevent a random stabbing & murder before it took even place.

What happened was a 72 year old man stabbed his *friend*, a 69 year old dude during an argument over a coat and the dude died. This occurred inside a nursing home, not on the streets, but McAssh-le didn't care. He went off on the 7th District Commander for letting this murder occur.

Note: apparently the 7th District commander is a real piece of work anyway and the coppers call him 'Rick Flair'. And CPD Supt Gerry McCarthy isn't liked much either -- he's basically loathed by Chi Coppers. And he's called anything but by his real name, i.e: Gmac, McJersey, McDrunk, McCompStat, and a fave of mine -- McStreetLightAssassin, a moniker he earned for what he did as a NYPD 'Commander' -- Shoot out Street Lights when he was DRUNK as a skunk.

McStupid also likes driving while drunk and was busted a few times in NYC (he always skated) and every weekend evening he can found in some upscale Chi Gin Mill getting hammered. Monday mornings are hell for him thanks to world class hangovers. But this time it really takes the cake. Maybe 'Minority Report' was on the Gin Mill TV and McMoron thought it was a documentary.

Oh, and the 72 year old guy who stabbed *his friend* -- Cops found out that he's in Chi's notorious Gangster Disciples street gang! 72 and still 'bangin , thats gotta be a record!! LOL.

Hey Rahm; Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to run a police dept. It's way past time you do something about McDimwit.
