There is now little doubt that the Girl Scout cookie boycott is having an effect on cookie sales this year.
Girl Scout spokesman Kelly Parisi went on The OReilly Factor this week to try and defuse the mounting controversy, and Girl Scout executives have sent threatening letters to their critics.
Girl Scout CEO Anna Marie Chavez took to YouTube on Thursday to deny all charges leveled by the boycotters and to deny at least one charge they havent even made.
Recently, various individuals and organizations announced their intention to boycott GS cookies this year, based on mistaken beliefs about our movement," Chavez said. "These same individuals also believe the Girl Scouts has become too political.
We do not now, nor have we ever, had a relationship with Planned Parenthood," she claimed. "Girl Scouts of the USA believes that reproductive issues are deeply private issues best left to families. I find it unsettling that anyone would use the Girl Scout brand to have very adult conversations. A box of Girl Scout cookies is not a political statement.

Can you believe when I was talking with a mother and explaining why I would not buy cookies that she did not understand the term pro-abortion? I actually had to actually define it for her. I am not sure what scared me more - the mother’s overwhelming ignorance or her daughter is being raised by someone so clueless.
Since I became aware of how GSA 'uses' children to further a liberal socio-political agenda, I have not yet had the pleasure of coming across & engaging a girl & her mother selling cookies, sans one time that I wasn't prepared, smiled & politely said, "No thank you."
However, I've since settled on how to approach it:
Me: "I'm sorry, but I cannot willingly participate in the victimization of your daughter. The Girl Scouts of America uses families & their daughters to promote a political agenda that should only involve discourse among adults.Conservatives need to remember the little girls are present and victims in all this (without regard to the mother's politics); I'd encourage similar repertoire for inevitable engagements. As well, I am likewise incensed that our government would criminalize you & your daughter making baked goods to support your LOCAL activities, be they school-based, extra-curricular or personal. I would MUCH rather purchase home-baked goods made by (you and) your daughter than this factory-produced rubbish. If you are selling cookies to support a 'local' function, I am happy to contribute but I cannot buy 'Girl Scout' cookies. I would encourage you to review the organization with which you are openly affiliated."
A few days before the Girl Scouts fired the guy when publicity began to reach a crescendo, I used Google to check the page, and this is what I found:
Strange. Nothing there about a guy named Josh Ackley. But, when I checked the cached version for a few days prior to that, this is what I found...
I had heard of this radicalization of the Girl Scouts some time ago, but this ices it. How about this new person, Stewart Goodbody? This is a joke, right?
Sigh. Not a joke.
The thing I found troubling was their effort to sweep things under the rug, but in their case, the cat was already out of the bag about this creepy homosexual Josh Ackley. Now, they want to deny any affiliation or relationship with Planned Parenthood. Most people I am sure are completely unaware of this, and nearly all liberals and a percentage of people who call themselves Republicans would not see any problem with this.
And I see that as a major problem.
Local groups should stop their whining and go to a local bakery for cookies to sell. They could keep more money that way, support local business and get the ingredients such as HFCS that send the wrong message out of the cookies.
Being married to a troop coordinator and the father of a seven year old member, I can attest to the fact that American Heritage Girls is an amazing, Bible-based, Pro-America organization that is spreading like wildfire!
Too late, take your cookies and stuff them.
Walked past some of these mercenary moppets with a smile and not even eye contact for their ignorant or feminist (and ignorant) mothers yesterday at their gauntlet stakeout at lowes
Havent bought from them in ten years since this was exposed.
All this CEO has to do is stop funding baby murder
Most are under a delusion that no proceeds go to the central command. They are wrong
Google search is also there for those in denial. This CEO doesnt claim she doesnt get all proceeds. She would if it were so. And shes tempted to.
I hear that soon the Boy Scouts will be selling their own brand of Boy Scout cookies....
If the Girl Scouts publicly rescind their praise of Wendy Davis AND replace it with public applause for Sarah Palin, I will purchase cookies again.

I almost wanted her to persist with her sales technique so I could explain why, but am glad she didn't.
GSA is another once trusted institution that has been corrupted by the marxists away from their once admirable mission.
I bought my first Girl Scout Cookies in 1964. I’ve bought them every year since. My three girls sold about 400 boxes each in the early 1970’s. I passed a table of Girl Scouts at the market yesterday. So was everybody else. I will not be buying them again until they dump that hag Wendy Davis and her pro-abortion friends!
Smoking gun comment. PP cannot back out of that statement with their former CEO being the one who said it.
Isn’t it amazing that everything the progressives touch dies? The Episcopal Church, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and a free Republic. We have to start treating our next-door neighbor who votes for these people as enemies of the state, not just well-untended neighbors.
I've been stating exactly that for years (when I woke up and went 'independent'; it's difficult when you're alone in that view in a RATs nest...conservatives here have no cojones as the minority...no drive...no representation). The 'puppet' is a convenient distraction...a useful idiot; the enemy is among us...all useful idiots to the 'puppet masters'.
