ok. Apple has released the patch for OSX Mavericks that fixes the security problem. This hit ONLY Mavericks users... no other OSX users. So, Mavericks users, hit the Black Apple menu and software update...PING!

OOOps! I missed your ping to the Software update until otherwise notified, so I updated yesterday. There's only one problem, if such it be. I got a message,
"Optimizing your Mac
Performance may be impacted until completed
when I rebooted - and it's still onscreen a day and a half later. I could click the "close" button the display offers - but would that delete the cause of the message - and if so, would it terminate a useful process? I honestly can't say that I can perceive any degradation in performance . . .
Can you shed any light?
