I've recently decided to ditch the term "liberal" and call 'em what they are: communists.
They object strongly [and hysterically], of course.
But every single one of them will proudly state that he's in favor of a "single-payer" health system which is nothing but communism. They don't like that pointed out to them, either.
I’ve been calling them commies for years. Their response is always to pretend I’m too stupid to understand the difference between communism and socialism. I can live with that as a cost of doing business for pissing them off. They HATE to be called communists because they know the shoe fits.
I can’t wait until the hoax is DISPROVED when the climate models are so hopelessly wrong that the MSM has to admit it. There are a lot of “friends” and acquiantances who I can’t wait to rub their noses in it. Everything else we discuss for the rest of my life will be prefaced by “well you fell for the AGW hoax, so your opinion is worthless anyway”.
Actually Darteaus94025 is more accurate. Today’s “liberals” and “progressives” and even “Communists” are all actually fascists. They aren’t trying to collectivize or nationalize the economy and are perfectly happy to have wealth disparities, provided the wealthy can be coopted into their program.
Communism failed so spectacularly that the only remaining refuge for the totalitarian instinct is fascism, that manages to produce some degree of wealth by allowing a hobbled free-ish market to function, even as the state meddles in every aspect of people’s lives.
