Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnel (R-Ky.) are now in position to end the Tea Partys death grip on the Republican Partys political future.
[snip]If the nations credit rating, stocks and the recovery went down the sewer because of Republicans refusal to raise the debt ceiling, the GOPs chances in the midterm elections would have been severely damaged.

Kinda like the coyote giving chickens advice on how to run the henhouse.
Just looked up the genesis of Republican party - first convention in 1854 with 44 house seats taken in 1854. They lost the Presidency in 1856, but WON it in 1860 with Lincoln.
I’m really looking for a new party to emerge to represent WE THE PEOPLE and uphold the Constitution. We need this SOON.
Exactly.
attacks on the TEA Party when they should be attacking Democrats... and why should we vote for them?
What Juan doesn’t seem to get is that when you have
someone on the run, eventually they get tired and
make a stand, they you have to put up or shut up.
It’s time to STAND!
Wishful thinking Juan. As inept as the GOP is the American people, by and large, know who’s responsible for the economic catastrophe, and 2014 will be another disaster for America’s Socialist Democratic Party.
Heh
I won’t vote for RINOs and you won’t either.
“Don’t throws me in dat briar patch!” said Bre’ Williams.
Juan is like a backward compass, do the opposite and you’ll be right on the money.
I guess I didn’t get the memo. I didn’t know they had us “on the run.” LOL!
Affirmation the GOP-e is a collection of scumbags that must be primaried.
My, my. All these liberals so concerned about the Republican party.
You know why? Because they want a weak establishment GOP to keep the uniparty going.
Juan is an unreconstructed Obamophile and liberal.
“By their enemies ye shall know them.” The Tea Party should feel pleased.
“strategic advice” and Juan Williams? That made me laugh!
Juan is a silly dude. He should do stand up.
The following comments have been attributed to Democrat political operative James Carville (aka Serpenthead, an appellation given him by his own wife). According to the alleged myth-busting website Snopes, owned and operated by a leftist Canadian husband and wife team who have been often caught shading or ignoring altogether information inimical to their leftist agenda, Carville never said this:
(Begin Carville’s alleged statement.)
“Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.
The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.
Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality.
What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.
The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.
Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.”
(End of Carville’s alleged statement.)
My point in bringing this to your attention?
Whether Carville said these things or not is completely irrelevant. The fact is that we are living in the midst of an era in which a distressing portion of the Democrat electorate is proving those words accurate beyond any question or doubt.
And that begs the most important questions we will ever ask: Will America the admittedly imperfect IDEA the Founders sought to leave us survive this very dangerous era? And will it survive long enough for some of us to continue improving this fragile experiment in the freest and most productive system in the history of the world or will we allow those whose only goal is to accrete and wield power by any and all means to destroy it and replace it with a system that has failed each and every time it has been attempted?
Each time I deal with this topic, the words of the perspicacious Baltimore journalist back when journalism was still an honorable profession Henry Louis Mencken come to mind: The urge to save humanity is most often a false front for the urge to RULE!
If we fail to correctly answer those questions in the next national elections, God help us.
But then, since we kicked Him to the curb decades ago, why would He?
Looks like we’re on our own and we probably only have one or two more chances to get it right!
Juan is obviously terrified of the tsunami coming in November.
Personally, I know no one that wants “An extension of unemployment benefits for people suffering long-term joblessness; a minimum wage hike; and, most important of all, immigration reform.”
Juan is an idiot and a fool.
Racist Juan and the liberal left are scared to death of people who believe in freedom!
