At 5:00pm Pacific Time, Ethiopian Flight 702, a Boeing 767-300 was flying over Sudan when it started squawking 7500. The transponder code, is supposed to indicate a hijacking.
(snip)
The flight, operating from Addis Abba to Rome has been confirmed by Rome Airport not to have arrived yet. As of now, it is over France, but has recently taken a steep northeast heading.
Based on flight tracking, it appears the plane is headed to Geneva. Emergency crews are standing by.

Bump
Where is it on radar?
I haven’t gone to that link. No other article search from google news and when I searched the regular site with that flight number, it shows the flight as completed:
Ethiopian Airlines Flight 702

I assume google gave me local times. The article mentions 5pm PST (8pm EST).
UPDATES:
Reports of the aircraft being directed to make an approach but not landing until a response is given regarding the word asylum (via LiveATC)
Fuel warning has been received on the flight deck (Via LiveATC)
Back in 1996 an Ethiopian 767 had to ditch in the water due to hi-jackers and lack of fuel.
I’ve loaded the radar image and agree they are still tracking it inflight. Don’t know how “informative” google is to report that it already landed at destination.
Dropping altitude, may be on approach
heading back to Geneva it appears.
Yes, it looks like it’s circling the airport. I hope it lands safely.
UPDATES:
Aircraft apparently cleared for an ILS approach. What could be a hostage negotiator has been heard on the radio
Response to the request will be given by Swiss Authorities on Short Final for landing on Runway 05 (via LiveATC)
No longer on radar via Flightaware http://flightaware.com/live/flight/ETH702

On the ground now...
It looks like it missed a runway
You are right, it in no way lines up with all the other planes on that runway.
not moving now.
In the sense that it’s now on land. It doesn’t look like its at the airport, though.
it keeps creeping in a Northeast direction, very odd
