As the debate brews over whether Republicans will take up the task of pushing through immigration reform, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday said he is hopeful Republicans will put something forward.
"I have not given up hope that we would act and we must act," McCain said on "State of the Union" with Candy Crowley.
"In states like mine, the demographics will only overtake and throughout the whole southwest," McCain said referencing the Hispanic vote he said Republicans need to win a national election.
McCain stood by his past comments that Republicans would not be able to win another election race without reform.

McCain was on television (well, CNN) ...what a shock.
Secure the borders and enforce existing laws. Maybe then we can talk. Moron.
Gee Juan, do you think maybe reform would help you get reelected. This guy needs to be primaried badly.
John McCain, shilling for terrorists and illegal aliens since _____.
If anything is an argument against the GOP amnesty plan it’s this: John McCain is for it.
Wow, I went two whole days without hearing from McCain. Wonder if he’s sick?
Giving amnesty to these undocumented aliens means the Democrats will have a perpetual lock on the electoral college because that will guarantee them Texas along with all the other large states. It will also make us the largest nation in Latin America, guarantee a large, permanent underclass dependent on entitlements, and destroy the American economy.
When will this SOB just die?
"Immigration Reform" just means lawlessness.
1. Border Security First, solid and credible.
2. A president who respects executes the law faithfully.
But we might as well be talking to the median on the Beltway, huh? We don't speak the same language.

First of all, I wish someone would explain the exact meaning of immigration “reform”. And explain why it needs to be “reformed”. The only possible explanation is it’s a nice word for amnesty.
Second, why would anyone who’s so old that he can’t possible live too much longer give a damn whether or not the republicans ever win?
Third, if he’s a republican, I don’t want them to ever win again.
And finally, “Eff you, McCain! Did you cancel your cable and get stung by a bug and now all the kids call you ‘Fatty Face’? I’ve despised you since you first ran for office. It sickens me to think that I actually voted for you, you traitorous POS.”
Does he ever miss a Sunday AM show? Can't he perhaps go to church or something?
It might Explode in Anger.
But who's fault is this Hispanic infestation, McCain? What did yo expect when you invited them to sneak into the country. If you had enforced the LAW, this wouldn't even be an issue.
The only REFORM we need is to finish building a WALL. Then we can talk about who stays and who goes.
Somebody needs to tell McCain that if the American people wanted what he is selling, they would have elected him in 2008 instead of electing the worst president this country has ever seen.
Sen. McCain has no integrity.
He gave MANPADs to al Qaeda in Libya,
SAMs in Egypt, Sarin in Syrian and did NOTHING
as nuns were raped and girls sold using US taxpayer money.
Arizona has an open border for terrorists because of him.
Here’s the way it works. You develop through experience a system of beliefs and policies that you believe are best for the country and your state. Because the electorate largely agrees with your policies you are elected. During your term(s) you may be convinced to tinker at the edges of your policies while keeping what you stand for intact. You are re-elected or not based upon how the electorate now views your record. You do NOT change your core principles in order to get re-elected but instead rejoice or bemoan your electoral fate. Your character remains intact either way. Comprende?
No, we do not need any more laws. Just follow what is already on the books.
What we need to do is give Obama everything he wants.
Then he won’t have anything to run on during the election. :)
*rolls eyes*
