I wonder why they are not building desalt plants all over the West coast. Its such a simple answer to the problem.
Key West used a desalt plant for fresh water for the entire city for years.
We have mini-plants on boats these days! They turn sea water into fresh and then into ice if needed.
It’s a new world. We should use the technology available.

Agree (though I’m not sure we need them in Western WA - - we do get quite a bit of water here from rain and snow melt/run through the rivers).
Part of the problem is still the government meddling in CA and OR - allowing influence by environmental wacko groups

Same thing they did to a lot of the timber industry in parts of WA state to save the Spotted White Owl.
