Starting tomorrow, Groupon ( www.groupon.com ) (NASDAQ: GRPN) will be kicking off Presidents Day weekend by giving customers 10 dollars off 40 dollars when they purchase a deal for any local business. The $10 bill, as everyone knows, features President Alexander Hamilton -- undeniably one of our greatest presidents and most widely recognized for establishing the countrys financial system.
Beginning Saturday, Feb. 15 at 9 am CST, shoppers will be able to redeem this offer by using the promo code 10OFF40LOCAL, which isnt very catchy, but neither was President Hamiltons famous saying, nobody expects to trust his body overmuch after the age of fifty. (continued)

Maybe I’m thick, but it sure comes across as a tongue in cheek joke to me. I think they are poking fun at the 1 in 4 Americans that thinks the sun revolves around the earth (urban Democrats with ObamaPhones).
I thought Daniel Boone was a great president also.
You are possibly right.
Probably if it were April 1.

He invented Boone’s Farm Wines too.
With Davy Crockett as his Vice President, the two men went on to create the Boone & Crockett standard for evaluating the antlers of deer.
I thought President Darth Vader was the first black president!?!
Oh yeah. I remember those commercials, “Pardon me do you have any Groupon?”
Seriously, William Henry Harrison was the best 1 month President we every had.
Government UNeducated school system. Washington is a city. Never heard of the guy George. Pennsylvania is a street. Never heard of the state. 98% of government school UNeducated cannot read to the 12 grade level, cannot add, subtract or divide. Need hand held calculators or a cell phone that has one to do those actions. Cannot tell time by a hands clock. They all have digital clocks. So cannot tell time by a real clock. I learned to tie my shoes in schools. About 95% run around with the shoes wide open now, sneakers that is, and are not tied. Either that is the style or they really cannot tie shoes. Kids no longer do PE in school any more. It is unfair that one kid might be faster, stronger, than the others, thus unfair that he dominate the playground. Kids are taught to be wimps now. Very few kids are actually doing sports any more. When I was a kid 60+ years ago, every kid played some type of sport, and girls did not have the sports they do now, but were active in guy classes, band, cheerleading doing the drills they do. No, government Uneducated school systems now are not preparing our kids. And, my UNfavorite, it the rewriting of United States History. THAT is the major one now. When I was a kid, Islam was NEVER mentioned. Now, all our US history books are filled with the greatness that Islam did in founding the nation, building up the nation, defending the nation in our wars, etc. Nope, America is finished. Dumbed down to the point that we all are waiting for the Little Green Men from Mars to come save us all from ourselves. Which by the way is the way it is suppose to be as they are the ones who dropped us off here in the first place as some type of alien school project, and now that we humans have screwed it all up, they are coming back to correct it all.
sorry, “guy” classes is gym classes.
Well hey, a kid I worked with asked me if Wyoming was a state.
Education is not what it used to be.
Help us all. Our kids are not learning anything.
I agree; below is Groupon's explanation of the discount code which makes it seem even more like a joke:
As a young store clerk, Honest Abe once walked 18 miles to return 7¢ to a customer whose wallet was eaten by a bear, so what better way to celebrate President's Day than with some savings? For a limited time, you can buy a Local deal and receive a $10 discount off your purchase of $40 or more! Just enter the promo code 10OFF40LOCAL at checkout.
Well, that makes sense!
+1; I missed class that day. LOL.
bah!
No one lays a glove on President Revere!
